    Useful forumpost is useful.
Came here following direction from the launcher, only to find the same orders here

EDIT : just noticed the same happened last week.

What say this week we expand the magnanimity of this posting with details of what is to be done? Maybe a Q&A about what is or is not slated to be addressed today, in the near future, or in the long term? Otherwise we'll just end up doing a screenshot contest to pass the time, while the more severely addicted among us scratch the crawling insects of withdrawal under our skin and pace a bald spot into the carpet checking the launcher every seventeen seconds.

BranFlakes has posted the Release Notes for June 7. Behind the scenes, I'm sure they're taking down the Breen BOFF also.

You may also find some realease notes on the Tribble Forums of what is to come during the next maintenance.

That almost sounds like you dont mean it! :P
Surely you can take a laptop to bed and play at night for that one day? It's only three hours sleep, surely you can tough it out for the things that are truly important in life? I mean life comes and goes, but epics are soulbound! xD

    New feature: Account-shared Bank!
    • This is a bank that all characters on an account have access to.
    • Stores up to 500,000,000 Energy Credits that may be deposited and/ or withdrawn by all characters on an account
    • Gold players get 10 free account-shared bank slots.
    • More slots will available to purchase for both gold and silver players at a later date.
    • The starter Duty Officer packs rewarded when characters first unlock the Duty Officer system are now Bind on Pickup.

    Account-shared Bank - Known Issues:
    • Inventory slots highlight red when trying to move a Bind-on-Equip item between the inventory and bank.
    • No message appears telling the player they cannot place Bound items into the Account Bank.
    • The Help text for the Account bank is the same as the regular bank.
    • The button to buy more slots is currently non-functional and opens an empty window.
Three hours for a reboot, patch, and the implementation of an account wide bank?

Cryptic, take a fourth hour. It will be worth the wait.

    :)

Agreed - and don't THINK about making bound items tradable between individuals accouints - EVERYONE wants this, so take the extra hour to impliment it!

Whilst its good that this post is here imperionoctem is right . . . it gives no more info than the launcher.
Info is clearly available, see Bran_Flakes linked to post above, why not link it?

Come on guys, stop letting forum members do sensible things you really ought to be doing!

All due respect, but how do you guys institute something like this (which we've all been wanting) without full functionality and with as many known issues that it has according to your post in the other area?

Seriously tho guys, all joking aside...
What on earth is the point of bound items if you can trade them anyway?
When you get one, or the container hoolding one, you are charged with the choice of selling it, orusing it, and then committed to that choice. It makes the choice significant, and makes you think before you click. I vote keep bound as bound, and BoE as BoE. Semiconducting items FTL IMHO.

Thats a very narrow minded view, what baaout people with special ships like galor or ferengi ship ? what about people who want to move stuff over to a new toon for whatever reason ?

ALL items should be account bound ! no exception ! its the same perosn playing the toon so why not let them transfer bound items between characters?

No-one has said that this would be the case.

The bound items will only be transferable within one's OWN account; i.e I would be able to transfer my spare Omega shield from my primary (science) character to my secondard (tactical) character.

I think it's a great idea - as noted, I have a spare Omega shield that my second toon could put to good use, and better that then having it sat in my primary toon's account doing absolutely nothing.

No-one is saying that bound items will suddenly start appearing on the exchange or in Fleet banks etc.

It's been my understanding that these threads are created by a bot / not done manually, so to say, based on scheduled maintenance times. As such it's always best to, once you're aware of them, check for BranFlakes's release notes thread as well.

I've always thought it was a copy and paste. Can't see a bot doing that since I;m sure taking down the servers is started manually. This post was here last night and can;t see a bot running that long just for a takedown.

I just wish that they would resolve the foundry issues.

    Some clarification please:

During the "Ask Cryptic", it was said that all players who both currently and previously have gold status will receive the "starter" 10 pack of account-wide bank slots.

Feeling being given by these patch notes is that only current golds will receive the 10 pack.

What should I expect when I log in after work, a bunch of account-wide bank slots, or a longer wait cause I'm a silver right now?

WIthout meaning to diminish your reasoning, I would posit that my view --far from being narrow minded-- is in fact capitalist; arguably the opposite. If people want a second character, let them commit a second effort, a second grind. Same chances, workload, and headaches of a brand new player. Reaching level cap should mean that a character --not a player-- gains access to gear and teams for raids, not to some magic IWIN button to copy paste a winning build onto innumerable alts per their Whim Of The Day.

If the stats, gear, skills, and ships of a character become exchangeable, what meaning does the individual character hold? Do we really want characters to become nothing more than blank templates for some Asgard cloning operation? Have we that little pride in our work on individual characters? And if that be the case : can we distinguish ourselves from the nefarious Ebayer to any morally signifant degree?

Well no I expect silver players will get 5 slots or have to buy the starter pack.

I hope we get at least 1 free to see if they are worth buying however I don't really see the point in account wide banks. guildwars had them and I didnt use it for my toons and never used it may use it hear if I have at least 1 free one to test

Would be nice if you could add a option for password for all that money. A second layer never hurts and make it opional. With they way Cryptic/PW has the game setup 500 Million EC could mean 500USD.

Three hours, it should have been there in big letters last time you logged in.

Edit: This obviously assumes you haven't been in game all night, it was there when I logged in before work five hours ago though.

Oh, so that's what you were doing in Starbase 82 all that while :D

I managed to get the 25th Century version of USS Relativity out of spacedock before the mass disconnects. Back in Feb I found the Odyssey class "weird" but now the design kind of grows on me. Handles quite nicely, for a flying cathedral.

Time to take a nap and back to shipbuilding later.

Oh that mothballed sci toon I told you about started off with 50k EC 90 mins ago and made his first million too :D

The Federation News Network section of the forums has information regarding scheduled downtimes so it's always best to check there first, or reload your STO Launcher which should say how long it is expected to be down.
We will be bringing down Star Trek Online on 06/07/2012 from 0700 to 1000 Pacific Time (1400 to 1700 UTC) for maintenance. Please check the forums for more information.

Edit: The original thread this was posted in was merged with this one.

This new patch is to allow each player to customize any part of the game - ships - NPC's - items - abilities and anything else they can dream of!!

The game will now be completely open universe too!!! And you will be able to colonize planets and set up your own fleets of up to 10 ships at your command at the same time!!

The daily dilth refine cap is being rised to 20k per toon and the cost of ships is being cut in HALF!!

    Have a good 3 hours:eek:

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding

Account-shared Bank - Known Issues: ***No message appears telling the player they cannot place Bound items into the Account Bank.***

Doesn't this mean that bound items will not be allowed in the account bank (and therefore not tradeable among characters)?

I mean its not you who got a full maco set ,its the char who played...our toons are alive and play for us :D
