Nice! Will likely be my next purchase - looks like it'd be fun to fly, and worth jaunt in the Vault event!

Is the Thoron console transferable to other shuttles/ships in one's inventory though?

Yes, of course. Re-read the dev blog from yesterday if you need confirmation.

It is available in the C-Store, but not from ship requisitions. Is that intentional?

Can't see anything in the blog that confirms that the Thoron console is transferrable.

And in the old days, "support craft" was added FOR FREE in the form of a playable "shuttle/fighter" attached to the main ship purchase.

I am ofcourse referring to the D'Kyr (with it's playable Tal'kyr support craft).

These days, under the watchful leadership of PWE, we pay extra for the shuttle.

That so? The Delta Flyer had already to be bought, just as the Fighters. The D'Kyr is the exception, not the rule.

I am so turned off on the PWE pay to play connotation, that when items hit the C-Store I do not get excited to even check it out anymore.

It is like poisoning the consumer confidence well. I already feel nickeled and dimed to death being a gold member in game.

My observation is that most of the subscriber base is starting to feel the same way, first raising the C- Store prices no thanks to Steven D'Angelo .

Then not raising the stipend by an equal percentage, and this all came right after we had assurance from Dan Stahl and Stormshade that

Prices would in fact go down and not be raised. Brandon their a lot of consumer confidence to earn back

before I consider another C- Store purchase.

LTS and Gold Monthlies should have a non consumable Master Key for all ready paying to play. PWE does

not get to double dip on those of us who already pay to play. That is an unacceptable business practice.

paid in game unlocks (other than the C- Store) should only be limited to F2P Subscribers only.

    Thank you.

Funny you say that, I am feeling the same way, I did buy the carrier when it was release however play with it for just 5 minutes.
I did fall for the master keys when they first came out as I wanted 1 of the ships but after spending about $20 on those I have not spent anymore and will not again on the keys.

If there is something I want and it's in the C store I will spend the money but will not on any kind of "Chance" of getting something that i want.

Very over the way STO has turned out now. I was thinking last year was bad but its just got worst this year

When the Delta Flyer first came out it was only a c-store option. It wasn’t until later they did the crafting missions.

really why should we pay for this is we bought the Atrox Carrier , should be given to the people who bought it just like the d'kyr and its shuttle , we did pay 2k points for the carrier and then the 60k+ dilitium for fighters that are not the week pathetic of the lot , so do some back peddling and give it to us and show all of us that its not about getting every penny you can out of us.

Aside from that, here's another Fed fighter. It's being introduced to capitalize on its association with the Atrox carrier. So, where's the c-store version of a KDF fighter that is associated with a c-store carrier? Orion marauders? Something, please. Look at the imbalance:

Klingons have one shuttle (Toron), one Captain's yacht (Chariot), and one fighter (To'Duj), while the Feds get 2 non-c-store shuttles (Runabout and Type 8), 4 C-Store shuttles (Delta, Yellowstone, Type-F, and Type 10), the Captain's yacht, and 2 fighters (Stalker and Peregrine). (Yes, i'm ignoring the Vulcan shuttle that is part of a ship purchase)

There are 2 issues I have with this fighter, both relating to dual cannons.

The first is that, in comparison to the Peregrine Fighter, it's lacking an ability.
    That is Rapid Fire I.
I'm not giving my Engineer's seat up for what should be an innate Fighter Ability.

The second is the emission hardpoints of the weapons.

I installed one dual cannon, 1 turret.
But when I used the weapons, it looks like only the turret is firing.

The Peregrine fires dual cannon bolts from it's wingtips!

    From the first paragraph:
This small craft is available only for Federation characters and includes a brand-new Thoron Generator Module that may be used on other small craft.

Don't get your hopes up. The way Cryptic acts is not going to change because it has proven pre and post F2P to make them money.

Why? The community supported them with money and suggestions for most of it.

Its sad but once you set them down the dark path, forever will it dominate their destiny...

(whoops, wrong franchise, right idea )

If it were not transferrable, the following line would be nonsensical:
From the Blog (and Stalker Description in the C-Store):

All equipment that comes with the Stalker Stealth Fighter can only be used on other small craft.

Compare to a similar line in the Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit descrption:
From the LRSV-R Description in the C-Store:

The Ablative Generator may be equipped in any console slot on the Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit.

By saying the Stalker fighter equipment "can only be used on other small craft," they are saying it is not exclusive to the Stalker, unlike the Ablative Generator for the LRSV-R which which we are told is able to slotted in any console slot on the LRSV-R, but does not indicate it can be moved to another ship, which it cannot be. Thus, that is the confirmation of which he spoke.

Of course, if you want to get picky, techncally saying it can "only be used in other small craft," could lead one to the conclusion that it cannot even use its own equipment, but I somehow suspect they want us to assume that is not the case. :D

Was wondering if anyone has the stats for this fighter as a lvl 50, don't want to buy it if it has lower stats then the Delta flyer. (Which I'd beable to find if the bugger was in the requisationable in game)

As a lifetime subscriber since release, I have to take exception to the notion that this fighter should have been free to subscribers or that it is nickle and diming us. I hate the notion of a cash shop in games, I left LotRO and a lifetime subscription there when they converted to Free-to-play and added a cash shop. I would not have subscribed here if I had realized when I made that decision that there already was a C-Store in this game. I would much rather everything in game be earned in game and only through game play.

That said, despite my lack of research before I subscribed, the C-Store was in the game from the beginning, and there has always been stuff you had to buy with C-Points if you wanted it. Likewise, as a subscriber, you get a monthly stipend of C-Points. Now, I agree it is a paltry amount, but in this case, it happens to be exactly the amount needed to purchase this fighter for free (at least as a lifetime subscriber, that is the amount I get). That means that it is not that Lifetime subscribers cannot get this for free. It means that you just cannot get this and something else for a single month's stipend.

Likewise, while you cannot earn C-Points in game and the C-Store does not accept in-game currencies, you can earn dilithium in the game, and it is possible to exchange dilithium for C-Points, so technically, you can still get anything in the C-Store by earning it through game play.

Are the prices ridiculously high for most things? Yes. Do they require C-Points for far too many things (e.g., more inventory, more bridge officers, etc.)? Yes. Is the stipend too low considering those things? Of course.

However, you cannot really say that they are nickle and diming you in this case since you can get this particular item with a single monthly stipend or you can earn enough dilithium to exchange for C-Points and get it through just game play. In other words, you only have to pay for it if you are unwilling to wait or to budget your spending.

Again, this is coming from someone who quit LotRO because they added a cash shop long after the game went live and who will not even consider Diablo III because they planned a cash exchange auction house. Thus, I am not defending the practice of a cash shop. But this game was designed with a C-Store from the start. It did not get added after they went free to play. As such, it is part of the game, and it is not like you have to spend cash to get anything in there.

This is getting sad for me. I wish there were more mission releases and less item releases. I don't feel like buying anything from the C-Store since I have no compelling reason to use it. I've replayed missions in this game more times than most quests in WoW even though I have played WoW longer.

I get Cryptic needs to make money but I'd like to have fun with NEW content. Cryptic needs cash, I'm here to be entertained in a Star Trek setting. I would love to spend $50 on a new expansion or something like that but with STO being free to play I know that will never happen.

Anyway, it is what it is and for me this perception has kept me from logging on recently. I look forward to new missions from Cryptic... Please. :-)

    What about the Foundry?

I've played a few Foundry missions and I know from STOked that there are plenty of good ones out there.

    But... :-)

That is what I meant with "from Cryptic" in my post. I want to see more of the "official" story. Experience more of the vision of where the prime timeline is headed. A foundry episode, no matter how well written, will never be more than a dream to my character. It can't be official.

I have not looked at the foundry tab in awhile and I think there have been changes. When I did do missions though I spent more time trying to figure out what to play then playing.

Cryptic missions though would have a progression and a path for me to follow. If Cryptic had been able to keep up with weekly Saturday releases and then a 2 or 3 week break in-between features that would have been perfect for me.

    No, you didn't miss it.

I checked thoroughly for this skill the moment I installed my dual cannons and it's strangely absent!

    Therefore, Peregrine trumps Stalker!

Is there any chance the Stalker will be updated to bring it in line with the Stalker pets? I mean c'mon the name if the thing is "fighter" yet it has a turret rather than cannon. From zone chatter I'm getting that the Delta Flyer trumps the Stalker as a shuttle, and the Peregrine Fighter trumps the Stalker as a fighter.

    Lets compare a little.
    Stalker Fighter:
    ..Tetryon Turret
    ..Quantum Torpedo
    ..Thoron Generator
    ..Low Energy Signature

    Stalker Pet (Blue):
    ..Tetryon Pulsle Cannons
    ..Anti-Proton Sweep
    ..Thoron Generator
    ..Hull Signature Masked

Seems to me the Stalker pet is better. It gets the pulse cannons, fighter gets a turret?? I get losing the Anti-Proton Sweep in favor of a Torpedo or it wouldn't even be close to current shuttles. However if it's supposed to be a fighter shouldn't it have cannon instead of a turret?

If it had come with cannon, like my hangar pets, I'd have bought it as soon as it came out. Now I want to wait and see if there's some hope it may actually be turned into a fighter rather than a shuttle.

The Peregrine has better impulse and turn rate modifiers (though not by anything significant) and of course cannon. The Delta flyer has an additional Ensign BoFF slot as well as better hull and shield modifiers. It seems like the Stalker is kind of lost in limbo between a fighter and a shuttle.

If anyone owns all 3 of these ships, would you please post your impressions? I want to buy it because I like the look of it. I also don't want to feel like I'm getting a sub par ship.
