open world Pvp......... Northey says blahhhhh

If they brought out another server for the game and made that open world PvP thats fine that way people who like PvP can have a say but knowing how well Cryptic listens to there player base ...... it wont happen they are going to dump it on us like so many other things we DON'T want, *cough*lockboxes*cough* but i can deal with that if they minimum gave me the option to reject open world PvP requests i dont wanna think im playing pokemon where if i walk through the tall grass (ie sectorspace) and a wild K'tinga appears, and whats this gonna mean for cross faction social zones ie Drozana, DS9 are we saying that when i take a respite from grinding for better gear and i go to Drozana to RP imma get attacked whilst sitting on a chair having a chill session by some Kdf toon whos claiming to be Khaless Reborn i dont honestly expect a reply to my concerns from Cryptic or PWE and if i do get one it will be a "wait and see i think you'll enjoy what we have in store"

but how am i or anyone else gonna enjoy whats in store if you Devs never actually take the time to listen to our concerns for the game.

well ive had my morning rant im off to grind for tier 12 omega

    Where did you see open PVP is coming? It will never happen because because people will leave in droves.

    Finally. Its been awhile since ive seen PVE'rs come into the PVP forums. Anything that gets PVP attention is a good thing. Keep it coming

    I think if you have zones for open pvp this won't be an issue for the rper and pver. Thanks for your input.

    Yup, Zones with open pvp is much more sensible. I'm having trouble understanding the OP, and all I got was "open world Pvp... blahhh".

    Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just find it highly unlikely that should open PvP become a reality it would force everyone to participate. If they are smart there will be clearly marked contested space for PvP as we as a wide variety of PvE and support mission (trade, diplomacy, exploration, etc) to let people contribute without being in the conflict.

    I love PvP but I don't want anyone forced into it. PvP is great, it just isn't for everyone.

    Given that this game has jack for pve content you should -have- to pvp, in my opinion.
    As far as social zones go, just disable pvp in them.

    No. I dont HAVE to pvp at all!

    Play some foundry missions, some awesome stuff there.

    BUT, an open world PVP would be pretty cool! :) Ill get back into my good ole' BoP

    if only there was something in the ip that could be used for open pvp areas... oh i know, NEUTRAL ZONES! considering everyones in a general state of war, those neutral zones would be the battle lines.

    sure, they might have to redo the whole sector space layout to include pvp buffer zones, but that could use an overhaul and reorganization. all of federation space to the left of earth not being in game is pretty stupid, only the most north 20% of klingon space in being in game when the entirety or cardasian and romulan space is accessible is pretty stupid, and needing transwarp gates to reach a sector that has the mutara nebula in it is also pretty stupid too.

    I'm a very strong beliver in new open zones like Kerrat. A new zone like this could solve a lot of problems in my book - put in a ground or space set to it and you've got accolades, missions to farm dilithium and things to do. And that means a **** load of players that will take part in the open PVP zone just for the grind - and once they're there then it's all about PVP babe.

    I hope they bring in open world pvp. This game is getting really stale. It's a game so there should be risk and it should be much harder to rank up and survive. This game is losing credibility because there isn't much enjoyment out of joining queues... People want to be able to explore and actually do stuff like attack other worlds exc.. Would bring more spice to the game. And not some stupid "You have taken over the capital" or something stupid but like actually form up alliances and have factions group up in teams to attack enemies of other factions. Still allow players to attack other players such as feds vs feds but then let the character be known as someone crazy in the federation and have them locked up if a player can apprehend them or have klingons be able to take over chains of command exc... just no real risk in the game. nothing exciting. Losing interest. Also, maybe give a credibility icon such as klingon "loyal" or a federation "Sane" or "insance" or something inbetween or perhaps just have the 2 and have a little meter go back and fourth... The meter for a klingon could be different and also a federation person could instantly be considered "insane" if they kill another federation player or citizen. Oh and here's a big thing.... have the whole game be openworld but for the new people, have like a training zone within a federation starbase like a holodeck so they don't have to face other players right away.... Also, when a ship is about to be destroyed in a battle, give the attack some options such as "transport", "Tractor pods", "destroy" but don't have these options prompt because that would just be annoying. Have the options be a seperate button in the hotkeys so the person can instantly decide... Also, destroying a vessel would not need an option since the player would just destroy them. Transport option would not be possible unless shields fail. Also, shields should be more of an issue in this game because when shields go down a vessel should be destroyed pretty quickly at that point so transporting should be allowed after shields go down. Shields should be more ephazied and not hull in the game. There should be more vulnerabilities and strategies. Target shields should not be a 1 player option to whoever has it. Things such as targeting should be universal and there should be a different targeting system because every ship on tv is capable of it. the game should allow players to still aquire special abilities but not limit anything to anyone since everything should be possible in a star trek open universe game. Have the game be alot about strategy and also allow players to constantly become better and increase their perks and skills because no ship ever stops developing after it's first created
