    Someday... a waitin' for me....

Well, fans go the movies and TNG made, maybe if we yell loud enough................

However my theory, is that someone will make a fan series that everyone just LOVES and some bigwig makes it into a series. It could happen.

    Love the idea of "Federation"

And I think it's just a matter of time before something gets made.

There is just simply so much hunger for trek, that it's just a matter of time.

All we can do till then is buy those TNG blu ray box sets, go to see the new movie, and eventually they will see that we are here waiting.

See, I told people this guy was bad for future of the Star Trek franchise. Nobody listened.

If a new show does end up in production and it has anything to do with Abrams or his *******ization of the timeline, I think I may have to find a new sci-fi series.

JJ's entire approach to his 'alternate universe' is simply that of "TRIBBLE you, I'm making whatever I want. I have the money to finance MY project and I'll do it my way."

His smug expression in the magazine and newspaper interviews I've seen is all I need to classify him "unlikeable".

I'll "like" a 150 year old Klingon instead, thanks. The Klingon is far more reliable, doesn't give you stupid smug expressions, doesn't remake your entire house without knowing how it's currently laid out, etc etc.

I Know how you feel about JJ, you have a beautiful mind, my dear friend.:D I hope the vengeful spirit of Roddenberry comes back, and pulls a Brandon Lee"The Crow" on his A*&.:)

Really someone should time warp back before he was born and pay his parents not to have kids

I guess I am one of the few here who don't hold anything against J.J. for his recreation of the original series. Then again, I never liked the original series at all to begin with. I was a big Next Gen, Voyager, Enterprise fan. I think to each their own really. The newest movie certainly did very well in the box office and generated a lot more Star Trek fans. Back on the topic, I'd love to see a new Trek series since I loved the newer generations of them. Though I would hope it was written by someone other than J.J., maybe Jeri Taylor and Berman/Braga. It would be nice to see the television revival of something new. Thankfully we have STO to add chapters to the story!

    There is no hope.

As long as Jar Jar Abrams is in control of the Star Trek franchise I'm quite finished with it. I could go on but I'm tired of writing the same thing over and over again. If anyone cares about my wheres and whyfores they can read about it on my blog, but the short version is simply, "Star Trek is Dead".

    Don't torture yourself with hope.

Hopefully someone pushes him in front of a train or off the top of a building or he meets with a very fortunate accident (fortunate for Trek fans anyway)

I understand your sentiment, Lukas. I really do. But Jar Jar is just the boil on the *** of trekdom. He's just a symptom of a much deeper disease. If something unfortunate were to happen to Jar Jar some other corporate pimp would just take his place...

Berman and Bragga are both waiting in the wings to leap in and sell out Roddenberry's vision to Paramount.

Star Trek is corporately owned now. Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

I admit I love every movie and trek series (yes even Enterprise, in fact I thought Enterprise was superb, so go ahead and report me to the mods for saying that)

I can't say I liked Voyager that much, I thought for the most part it was badly written but at the end of the day I'll still watch it, because it contributed history to the canon that I love so much. Each show built upon the universe it was set in.

As for that link that tosmonkey posted. It's true and correct. Which is sad.

Star Trek's just there to show off fancy fx and explosions with a bucket load of blinding lensflare thrown in.

Gone are the days where it'd have some substance to it I.E Insurrection. A story about principles/right and wrong/morals and ethics. Now it's just OMGZ THAT LOOKSSSS SO COOL!

And people say that JJ Trek has generated a lot of new fans.

I say TRIBBLE. People watched the new trek, they liked it, they forgot about it. In fact it probably stayed with the true trek fans more because of how bad it is and what it represents. (The fact Trek's just another dumbed down franchise like so many others out there)

Now I'm going to stop typing because this is F*****G depressing. Hopefully we get a real Trek film or show again one day. Thanks for reading this guys.

No there is hope. The fact that this game exists, the fact that this forum exists. It's all because a bunch of socially awkward folks in the 60's and 70's got together and said, "this SciFi series, we want more."

It may not come from paramount, or CBS, or even Cryptic. But it will come! Someone somewhere, will make a fan series so popular it gets syndication!

I smell it, I feel it! It can happen! It should!

The right people just need to get together... and ask forgiveness rather than permission :D

    +1. Very well said.

JJTrek and all is adolescent pew pew action does bring in new fans alright. The problem is, what kind?

It's reasonably accurate to say you won't get the kind of Trekkie that will buy the TOS Enterprise and roleplay as a mature and responsible TOS Captain in STO.

Imagining myself as someone in elementary school and enjoyed dreaming of captaining the new, huge, supercharged 900m long JJTrek Enterprise, I'd log on to STO, claim I'll be Admiral within a week, and call everyone a NOOB in STFs while contributing nothing to DPS or team performance. Because such a fan of "Industrial Light and Magic", the ship will probably be configured for maximum show and no go too :D Sounds familiar?

That's more or less what you get when the mature and intellectual setting of Star Trek is dumbed down to show "men's health" magazine-perfect teenagers running around the galaxy like Power Rangers killing and destroying everything they see.

And what's with Uhura and all those intimate scenes? It's insulting to her TOS character.

Centersolace you say there is hope because of this game and it's forum? Are you joking dude?
This game is almost as bad as JJ's abomination, the only thing that's better about it is that it's set in the prime universe and that's it. This game's dismal.
