Question. is there any way the STO team can do this amazing story in the STO realm? I was floored when I got done with the 3 novel ark. It changes the Star Trek Universe for years to come, and my opinion is many fans just may enjoy it in gaming form.
I haven't read it yet, I plan on picking up the prequel novel to the Dark Tower Gunslinger story.I will have to grab that as well.:)
I told my non-ST friends about it, and they went out and bought them. There is a Wiki site that explains the whole story without buying he books, but it may be more fun reading them yourself. if you get them, let me know what you think.

Definately give it a read! It's some of the best trek fiction I've ever read. I honestly wish it would get made into a movie (instead of nemesis )
And as Roman said, I would love it if cryptic made a story like that.
Destiny is good, but as said, the scope of it is sort of "out there" in terms of who's involed and what changes. The DS9 relaunch books are probably the safest bet for pinching ideas. But those, the lost era, the earth/romulan war etc, all get referenced in Destiny etc. Some of the Typhon Pact books that follow Destiny are very good too.
While Destiny is likely beyond the scope of the game, I could see the Typhon Pact forming in response to the Borg Invasion of '09 and the conflicts the Federation is embroiled in.
The Gorn joining the TP would provide a nice storyline for an FE, a secession from the Klingon Empire (not necessarily the entire Hegemony would leave the Klingons). The most important factions - Romulans, Gorn and Breen - are already in-game and the Tholians are underway. That leaves the Kinshaya and Tzenkethi; and the Talarians as Federation allies.

I read all the books and it is indeed an amazing story. The writers "Magnus opus" I heard.
But it changes so much that it probably wouldn't work in STO.
First of all it would mean
*spoilers ahead*
Getting rid of the Borg, which I think everyone would object to. Also introducing the caeliar and those guys are
