I am sad that this great resource for starship dimensions and all around fun site to visit is no more.

Jeff Russells' page has been a staple of my web viewing for years. It was always there to help resolve or begin fights about the scale of the various fictional beams of light that we witnessed on countless TV shows, books, or movies. I like the paper doll aspect when you used IE. Being able to move the ships next to each other to get a real sense of how their sizes compared. It has been a page that the Devs have been referred to by posters in the forums and I am sure a few Devs already knew and referenced the site on occasion previously.
Any fan of celestial bodies, be it the moon Phobos or the Death Star , had to visit this site at some time or another to just compare some crazy stuff. How do the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man compare in size to King Kong or Godzilla? How big was the Dyson Sphere compared to Ringworld? Halo to the Death Stars? How tall was Yoda compared to Marvin? These questions, and many more, may have been regulated to blind conjecture and never ending arguing.

If it never returns, I will miss Jeff Russells Starship Dimensions.

I wish him all the best.

(I can only assume he was smacked down by the IP police. There were a LOT of IPs there. Like an IP minefield as far as the eye could see.)
