Long time casual player looking for a fleet

I've played STO solo since launch (holding out for RL friends who never got interested), and now I'm looking to join a fleet. I'm a fairly casual player, though I have successfully run everything in the game at least once, including PvP and elite STFs. I don't do PvP or STFs regularly, though I do run with top of the line gear. The only system I play with regularly is the DOff system, though I like to do a little of everything now and then. When fleet starbases are released, I intend to be heavily involved in that system. My RL schedule is quite variable, so my play time is scattered throughout all hours of the day and week, but I can't ever commit to a single time slot. I am very knowledgeable both of STO game mechanics and Star Trek lore (just the TV shows, never really got into soft canon material). I prefer space combat over ground. I don't RP but I respect those who do. I enjoy helping others.

What I want in a fleet:
  • Fun above all else! Humor, mirth, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes! I love this game and want to play with others who do.
  • Casual, play when we feel like it, accept that everyone has different playstyles and habits
  • Friendly, helpful
  • Nice, polite discourse
  • A small, tight-knit community. I want to get to know everyone.

What I don't want:
  • Mandatory event attendance
  • Rigid hierarchy
  • Mandatory RP. I respect RP, but I choose not to participate in it myself.
  • A large fleet. More than a hundred active players is just too much for me to handle, sorry.
  • People who complain about the game or berate the devs. I'm here to have fun, not listen to negativity.
  • People who tell others they're doing it wrong. I'm a minmaxer because I enjoy being one, but this is not a hard game, so if other people want to play what's fun for them, I'm going to encourage that, even if it isn't "the best".
  • Any kind of discriminatory or bigoted discussion. I would prefer a fleet with a zero tolerance policy for any kind of disrespectful talk.

Sounds just like the TOS Veterans Fleet but we only except members in their 30's, 40's and beyond ;) So if you qualify then that is the ONLY rule we have in our Fleet. Well that and we are social first!

    Greetings,

I invite you to check out the 44th. We seem to fit many of your criteria. We are a small fleet as of now, and looking to grow. We are casual with no required minimum play times. We are age 18+ (I, myself, well.. let's just say I am over 30). We have a Teamspeak server. Although it is not required, it is helpful when running STFs and such. We are mostly positive (after all, we wouldn't play if we didn't like it), but we do get the occasional grumbling about some things like lockboxes and money grabs, but I doubt you'll find a fleet that doesn't have any. We haven't had an official "meeting" in over a year. We are not big into RP, but you're welcome to it if you want. We do have a 'rank' structure, but it is more for organizational purposes and fleet bank access. No one is going to 'pull rank' on you and order you around, lol. We've been around since beta, and are definitely looking forward to fleet starbases. OH YEAH!

Check us out at startrek.44thfleet.com and see if we are a good fit for you. Or if you have questions, feel free to PM me.

EDIT: Oh, and I have a bit of an odd schedule myself, and am usually online late nights (9pm-3am PST). Feel free to contact me in game as well.
