I'm seeking someone to help me create an avatar image consisting of the 25th Century Tactical Dept combadge on a male Sierra 1 uniform, at least 500 x 500 px size.
I have attempted to do this myself by taking my player Captain to the ESD tailor, zooming in as far as I can on his chest, increasing the /renderscale setting, taking a screenshot and then cropping out a square region with the combadge centered in the middle of the image.
However, my laptop is unable to handle renderscales beyond 2 (STO crashes), and simply increasing my screen resolution to 1680 x 1050 does not produce images at the desirable size - hence why I am asking for help.
If you have:
- A computer capable of handling high renderscales
- A Male Human player captain / BOFF you are willing to temporarily change the costume of
in order to create this high-res combadge screenshot for me, please let me know and I will email you the costume data file stored in my STO Live Screenshots directory.
I'll make one. Do you need it in Vector format or PSD?
effects?
colors?
realistic?
illustrative?
I'll use whatever you generate. PSD format would be lovely if you can provide it as such (and of course, credit given where due).
I'm not sure whether the OP wants it this way but I like the JJ Trek 2009 poster where it showed just a shiny Starfleet commbadge on a plain background and nothing else. Cryptic splash screen has a nice effect too but it's just too glaring.
I'm not asking for patch artwork to be drawn - my request was for a close-up screencap of my character's combadge.
To clarify things:
Make sure you have a human male BOff
Provide me with your email address (via in-game mail to protect your privacy)
Receive file containing the costume definition for my toon
Copy the file into the Live/Screenshots directory of your STO installation
Set your monitor to the highest resolution possible
Go to a tailor in STO
Type the /renderscale 2 or /renderscale 2 command in the chat window to increase the rendering resolution in game
Modify the human male BOff's costume
Load my toon's costume (with the load button) but DO NOT purchase
Zoom in as far as possible on the combadge area
Take screenshot
Revert your BOff's original costume without spending any EC
Retrieve screenshot from the Live/Screenshots directory of your STO installation and email the image to me
You may wonder that, since I'm so specific in my request, why I can't do this myself - the reason being that my laptop crashes at renderscale 2 or 3, and so I am forced to use the default resolution scaling which does not give a large enough combadge screencap.

No problem, my PC is at renderscale 3 and operates at it consistently.
