If you want to make your shots looks really good, change your renderscale (/renderscale #), and then resize the image to fit your monitor after the shot has been taken. The Default is /rendersacle 1.

/renderscale 2 will take a shot at double your screen's default dimensions, 3 will be 3 times.
Keep in mind, these are rectangular areas, so renderscale 3 is actually 9 times the total pixels.
You should not run renderscales much higher than 2 or 3, you WILL crash the game.

Most screenshots we take will be on a computer running at 1680x1050, and we'll take them at renderscale 2, and then resize afterwards. This gives a cleaner look to things, and provides a type of antialiasing.

So type in /renderscale 2 to get the better picture.
    then /screenshot_jpg
To return it to normal again type in /renderscale 1

You could do all that or you could just push your 'printscreen' button on your keyboard and look in the screenshots folder for the game. ;)

Standard screenshots at 1920x1080 are far from garbage.

Nope. Wish it did. Not set up on this laptop to handle *.tga's.

Didn't we have a lengthy thread discussing this already? I'm very quickly running out of time. Hopefully someone will link to it.

LOL! I just got the impression that he was looking for a basic ability. I'll keep that renderscale trick in mind for later, myself. :D

Print Screen will capture the game without the UI, but if you want the UI, then you need to type in

    /screenshot_ui_jpg

I find its easier to bind that , so type in /bind Rshift+Sysrq screenshot_ui_jpg
Thats right shift + printscreen (on my system)

Personally I sprung for a FRAPS license. Fraps is a screen capture utility for video games. I love making videos too and FRAPS lets you do this.

Mind you, the freeware version will let you take videos too, but only short ones and there's a big fat watermark on them.

Works nicely! But is there a way to get the screen resolution back to the way it was before I started using /renderscale? Even setting 1 kinda slows my computer down.

EDIT: Never mind, I figured it out. :)

    Thanks again!
