Okay, so having looked at some old Star Wars vs Star Trek debates, I noticed something amusing.

One said 50 torpedos = planet destroyed.

Yet in TNG, on an asteroid that's not even the size of a planet, it'd take most of the 250 torpedos on the enterprise D to destroy it?

The longer Trek went on TV the more inconsistent the tech writing became until they were just randomly picking particle names for the beam weapon of the week.

I don't mind. We wouldn't have Rainbow Failboats (tm) without them!

I only recently discovered we even have pink beams too!

In TOS it was mentioned something like the Enterprise's shields was strong enough to withstand 99 photon torpedo impacts from all directions at once.

In STO, the most deadly torpedoes are the ones that do plasma damage and are invisible. What now :D

I must have these. Which ones are they? The closest is polaron, afaik, but they are more purple-pink (I still picked them when I first chose an energy type on my first character).

Yes there are. I'm not sure why I took so long to discover them too.

Some girl in a fleet was raving on all about her phased polaron beams and how they pwned in PvP.
Another chap in an Odyssey agreed. When we did an Elite STF later with them both I saw they were pink beams!

No wonder she liked them so much!

I had never tried the phased ones as i'd not seen a purple iweapon of that type high end. I will hav e to look and see if there is a [borg] version. Thanks for the heads up.

However, they do slightly threaten my masculinity so I may use something else anyway... lol silly yes but I am unashamed.

They don't come in a anti[borg] version because they a special reward for one of the Cardassian campaign missions.

I'm not sure how losing the anti borg proc would affect lethality as its just a 7.5% chance of doing 1000 additional damage anyway. Damage output from full-power beam banks and buffed up is usually way more than that.

The pink beams do the usual polaron weapons proc plus gives you the ability to strip shields just like the tetryon proc. So it's a 2 in 1 thing.
