Wow, virtually every Star Trek actor will be there. Even random people who played their roles in just one episode. I think I would just die of excitement (and for lack of organs I´d have to sell on the black market to pay for all the autographs).:o:D

Sadly, I won't be at Vegas. I'm a cold-weather creature, so going to the middle of a desert in August is just...well...not a good idea.

I and several other DJs will be at the Philadelphia Area Star Trek Convention (http://www.creationent.com/cal/st_philly.html) May 4th-6th though. And we'll be sending a big group to Vegas too.

Hope you stream any important events, I remember watching the one in 2008 and seeing the first trailer to STO, great memories.

You know what? I get the irony, however the convention has NOTHING to do w/ gambling. Sure it's held in Vegas and I'm sure people do gamble but the convention itself is an amazing experience that just happens to be held in one of the biggest & cheapest party cities in the country. I met some amazing people last year, some of which I talk to still. I met fleet mates in person and got to spend 4 days w/ them. We partied til 2 am, went to dinner events, lounged by the pool for hours. It was just an amazing experience.

Meeting the team last year was a great time too and I'm thrilled to see they will be there again.

Cryptic: redefining 'Irony', one event at a time.

Is there really any need to go to Vegas? You could simply throw a party at DS9 with boxes, keys, and Romulan Ale. You'd get the same effect out of it. ;)

What do you want them to say? They aren't going anywhere. People are buying keys and opening boxes. They've acknowledged the gold-box-loot problem.

They aren't going to stop no matter how long/rage-y that thread gets.

So...what are you really expecting? Because, frankly, the incessant whining in every thread is WAY more annoying than the boxes/spam are.

Just report any post you find that's unrelated to the thread. Lock box comments belong in the lock box thread. This thread is about Star Trek Las Vegas and STO's presence in that convention.

Nothing to be nervous about. Last year was my first time ever at any convention and it was AMAZING. I was surprised to see how nice the people and celebrities are. I even ran across a few of the celebs at bars and restaurants and they were super nice.

Wow that sounds awesome. Looks like I will be having a blast. Can't wait till August. Hopefully the devs will be having another dine with the devs event.

I hope so too, it was a nice relaxed atmosphere, just need a bigger restaurant ;). I also hope that they take the time to advertise the game a little. Last year PWE_BranFlakes (before he even worked for cryptic) took the initiative to plug the game by talking to Brent Spiner on stage and handing him a copy of it. It was a great move however it would have been better if STO had some official representation in this massive Star Trek convention.

too funny. so i guess we know where all the lock box money is going now. To pay for the Devs to party and gamble in Vegas.

I am sure they will pick up a few new business tips while they are there.

Yes, this would be good. It is such a great opportunity to advertise this now Free to Play Star Trek game to star trek fans at the convention. I've actually met die-hard fans of the shows who have not heard of Star Trek Online. This is STO's chance to shine at the convention.

By the way - I was surprised at how many stars are appearing  - almost all of them! Almost fell off my chair when I read the list.

I KNOW . This year's con already has most of the big names that showed up last year plus a bunch of new ones, I'm really impressed. By this time last year the roster was mostly filled by people like Clint Howard and "cop number 2" in an episode of TOS, lol :p.
