Agreed.... 90% of crew gone in first few seconds of battle, yet not damage to shields or ship. lol
I can definitely attest to this. In fact, I tested it with a friend, via an experimental 1V1 challenge battle. I was in my Odyssey and he was in his Excelsior Advanced Refit.
I simply sat still and rotated my shield arcs, asking him to hit me with phasers first. His phasers scratched both my hull and shield levels, but inflicted no crew damage. Then I asked him to pummel me with quantum torpedoes and that's when my crew numbers started dwindling rapidly. Yet, all the while that his torpedoes were diminishing my crew like feasting piranhas, I was sustaining next to no damage whatsoever to my hull and shields.
And here's the truly puzzling part. While his torpedoes rapidly turned all of my white crew icons to orange (signifying injury, I'm guessing?); said icons barely turned grey (guessing death?). Even after a lengthy, sustained torpedo pounding, methinks one...maybe two crew icons went grey. And all the while, virtually no damage (fluctuating between 98% to 100%) to both hull and shields.
So, the ship seemed to sorta kind of survive, but forget using 'Boarding Party' or relying upon any crew complement-based abilities or actions.

Does using the Jem'Hadar Resilient Shield help? It gives a +50 crew damage resistance. Add in an engineering console for +35 crew resistance and it should help with survivability right?
Interesting to note how this 'prototype' ship was launched in under 3 months and someone conveniently 'overlooked' the emergency force fields.. or forgot to supply seatbelts :P
Its not just the ODDY I went to play a normal STF after the last patch and where I do not die at all. I got wasted in 4 shots and died 3 times. I read that the STFs have been turned up as far as Borg damage goes. I have seen it all over. To many complained its to easy, now they made it a bit one sided. Heck at one point in Infected, there were 4 spheers out to get you at one time, now there are 6 with a DPS much higher. My shields dropped in 2 hits and my hull down to 40%, and forget it if a TB gets a hold of you. your done.

Shouldn't you have a way out of a Tractor Beam if your doing STFs?
And as for Infected if you don't kill spheres faster enough more keep spawning. Only the number of Nanite Spheres is limited.

Ownship's hull will drop real fast if your shields go down. So use RSP1 or something to keep your shields up (and you'd be near invulnerable for a short time). When RSP expires, TT and EPtS to maintain shields.
PH1 to avoid tractor beams, or in emergency situations repulse multiple spheres away. Once they are beyond 5km range they will not be effective.
Borg damage is tuned down so much that tanking with cruisers is almost elementary in all normals and on ISE and KASE. CSE is DPS-intensive so I'll use a fleet escort the next time I try that.

You quote me, but don't answer my question in the slightest.

That's what I thought lol. The torpedo crew damage was never made with huge ships with thousands of crew in mind.
Crew damage should logically, scale vs the size of the target.

They can be purchased either invidually (Science, Tactical or Operations) or as a pack from the C-Store.
