I'm guessing this is the post you're looking for:
    http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=265874

However, you make a compelling point. Does it really take two hours to put Ferengi Lock Boxes in game?

They have to make sure they do it right and not mess something up.

Er, maybe the changes in the release notes thread > http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=265891 ? There's something in there about server stability, and two hours was par for the heap collapses.

Will that patch the RSP turning bug. it's DARN ANNOYING and NOT just cosmetics at least it certainly doesn't feel like cosmetics at all. I felt the turning rate just went down CONSIDERABLY when the bug took effect. Pls don't tell me to deny my own perception and judgment.

Edit: Ah the release notes say it is fixed. Very good news.

My god they take the servers down more on this MMO than any other I've played. And why do they do it at times when lots of people are trying to play. Wouldn't make more sense to take it down say between 4:00-7:00 AM? If they don't know that most MMO'ers are night owls then they have no business in this...well, buisness. :) Come on, start thinking about your customers a little. Oh well, I guess this means I'll just have to put more time (and money) into Star Wars instead.

Erm, it's early morning in Europe, midnight on the West Coast and in the early hours of the morning on the East Coast - on weekday.

    Hardly peak hours.

I agree that it goes down a lot, but this seems a pretty sensible time for it to go down if it must.

There's also the Friday the 13th Mini mission, that's probably being added in this as well (dunno, haven't seen the patch notes yet)

Edit: Just seen them, and apparently not.

To all those complaining bout the downtime, seriously go watch some TV or read a book or play another game in the mean time, stop whining and QQ'n as maintience is a part of an mmo lifecycle and trust me when i say this mmo does not go down as much as you think it does, eve goes down more than sto and thats daily maintence..

Look at it this way, would you rather the upgrade as opertunity arrises and reboot the servers every so often so you can play with less issues or would you rather they are on without fixes and maintence and have the game be unplayable but always active?

If you wanna help improve things and get some gametime in whilst holo is down hop on tribble test server and just be constructive rather then sit there and whine and QQ (I'm sick of seen so many people complain about things before they either test it or complain for the sake if it cause they are too lazy to do something else in the meantime).
