So with an exchange rate of 267 Dilithium for 1 Cryptic point, and alotments of 2000 Cryptic points being valued at $25 USD, then a $500 video card should only cost me...
10,680,000 Refined Dilithium. Grindable at 8,000 per day, that should only take approximately 1,335 days.

whereas Plex costs around 500,000,000 ISK on the current market (If you shop around, as there's a lot of inflation atm), at a mid-game point you can grind about 20~30 mil every couple of hours... so... for one plex, so let's say you pull 2hrs a day, you're looking at 16 days for One plex (Which would buy you one month of game time), times this by 20, and you're looking at about half 2~3, maybe 4 months of running at 2hrs a day, now let's assume you're taking your time, and using some of your PLEX to make playing the game free, because let's face it, free is always better than not free... I'm going to stop making calculations and estimate you should likely be able to buy your new graphics card after about 6 months of leisurely in-game grinding.

Yes, but ISK isn't gated to 8k per day, and allows economies to scale at a player-determined rate.
Economies are not on a linear curve, despite what Cryptic would like us to believe. Cryptic say we can only make 8,000 per day to 'prevent us from destroying the Dilithium economy', but this isn't how the free market works.
Once you have, say, 10 million in the bank, it is far easier to build that total by vast multipliers if you know what you're doing on a stock market. Or do you think the world's Billionaires ground out their fortunes by having someone tell them they could only make 100k a year?

Hey, I think you are confused. This is Star Trek. You know, the show that preached communistic economics. Cryptic, if anything, is staying true to canon!

Which is precisely why, whether the OP was joking or not, we will never see that here, because while forcing socialist economics on the game mechanics themselves is a fantastic way of guaranteeing the actual capitalist economy continues to thrive, it has no direct correlation to reality.
Its brilliantly devious when you think about it, as it allows Cryptic to dictate - absolved of any accountability - the value of their own economy.

lmao i like this how about a pc for that? btw that base is Amarr Amarr FTW
What about something like ... T-Shirt, Posters, Coffee Mugs, Models, Caps.
Not so keen on Dilithium, but EC or C-Store might be nice
We need STO merchandise!
Take your Amarr somewhere else. The Federation is totally the precursor to the Gallente Federation.
have to admit that I;m itching for a hat. hats for my crew, like the Enterprise hats they wore in the show, would be a plus as well.
