but i havent used these in half a year, not a part of any clan/guild/fleet/collective whatever. its the only way i can talk with others since cryptic still havent fixed that epic fail voice software of theirs. otherwise i would be talking with others over the headset.
I refuse to use any kind of voice software in games. I have used them before, mostly vent, but I find the general chatter between most people annoying as heck. Also you've got those "my way or the highway" types who verbally abuse you if you aren't the good little drone they want you to be. Luckily those people aren't too common, I think.
TS3 with a Mumble server as backup...
Since we are a small fleet, non-game chatter isn't usually an issue.
I refuse to use the Viox (or whatever) chat that's for use ingame for STO.
I used to leave it on but unused until I started getting the Ads playing randomly, so I disabled it and have no intentions of ever using it while it randomly plays ads while gaming.
I hate commercials as it is and I certainly don't want to hear them while I'm blowing s*** up...

I find voice chat to be so much more personal, and I love getting to know other STO players.
