AMD Radeon HD6670, black flickering boxes all over screen!

HELP! Distress call!

I have the AMD Radeon HD6670 Graphics card, on my x64 XP computer I just built and I'm getting stupid boxes all over the place. I mean, the game runs smooth UNDERNEATH the boxes, but it's still a pain in the *** trying to see what the hell's going on.

The game gave me a warning before I started saying that my drivers were out of date so I went to the website and updated them. They are the correct drivers and most current ones.

Here's a pic of what the hell's happening:

Do you have the Direct X 11 renderer enabled (it's in the video tab at the bottom under troubleshooting).

I enabled the Direct X 11 renderer but I had similar issues, though only in space.

My card is an AMD Radeon 5970

I don't have that option under "Troubleshooting" :(

Okay, from running about a bit I have realised that only 3D objects are being affected. Flat 2d texture are fine.

Should be there, I'm at work I don't remember the exact location. I remember having to drill down a menu or something.

    Optiions
    Video Tab
    Show Advanced video settings
Scroll to the bottom and click on troubleshooting

Is there not a pull down there to select the renderer type?

I had the same bug after installing the latest drivers.

I just downgraded back to the version 12.1, and the bug was gone.

I will note I have this exact issue in Catalyst 12.3 in SWTOR with AA turned on. The new AMD drivers are buggy.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I'll take a look into down-grading my driver.

CO and STO seem to be both having this problem after the 12.2 catalyst drivers are installed. Turning off anti-aliasing fixes it in every instance I've seen it (3 computers).

Here's what it looks like in CO, and solution. same issue though.

Reading through this thread I will keep my listeners notified of this when I get home and keep checking back for any updates for the drivers and solutions since I'm using nvidia atm (but keep uptodate on both).. hopefully fark can forward this to the systems team.

Also read through Graphics Corruption with AMD 12.2/3 Drivers and viewing the posts the 3 solutions (temp till its is officially fixed) are:
    • Turn off AA (as stated above)
    • Switch from DX9 to DX11 Beta under troubleshooting (if supported by your gpu)
    • Roll back drivers to Catalyst 12.1

once again I iwll post this link
    http://downloads.guru3d.com/AMD-Catalyst-12.x--8.96-February-28-download-2867.html

    that driver fixes the issue.

2 other fixes that work for most people.

    1. disable AA and Post Processing.

    2. set the game to dx11 mode.(may not run that well on slower cards like the 6670 with drivers other then the ones I linked)

I have a AMD Radeon HD 6800 series... and the flickering is insane... the bluescreens of death I haven't seen the likes of since Windows 95.... like wtf lol? Wtf was AMD thinking? I get a 100% black screen/with distortions and... at times flickering like a fluorescent light that's about gone.

Ever since 12.6 and the last few STO patches. Going to try http://downloads.guru3d.com/AMD-Cata...load-2867.html I guess.
