hey there fellow captains

not sure where to put this but i just wanted to see what people thought of of the

"there's another ship joining the battle......its the Enterprise!!" section of the new featured episode.

hopefully people will remember a scene similar to this from the star trek film first contact, both of which make my hair stand on end because its just such a cool scene

just wanted to get peoples opinions :)

I think it could have been a bit more impressive if the cutscene lingered on the Enterprise as it opened fire. Maybe even spawn in a group of Jem'Hadar fighters with it just for it to blow them to hell in one volley.

hmm good point actually. however at least we know its active and in space. we may see it again in other missions etc ...so maybe we will get that scene after all

The Enterprise' abilities in battle could have been a lot better.

Poor thing. Captain Shon must have just opened his Odyssey Requisition and flown the thing for the first time.

Too bad on the char I was playing it was "Captain, there is another starship coming in. Oh, it's just our sister ship."

    Shon's such a n00b ;-)

Still, I have to say, flying a small Science ship struggling to survive, I loved seeing the big E swoop in - shame it spent much of it's time 'repairing' lol. Still exciting none the less.

The Enterprise should have been destroyed with that poor firepower and bad leadership at the helm...got to hand it ot Cryptic....takes a lot to nerf THE Enterprise...

This is what happens when you take the Commanding Officer of an Escort, and put them in the center seat of a Super Tanker.

Oh, and for the record Cryptic, the Enterprise AND the Defiant were destroyed in my battle.

Time for an Enterprise-G. As for the defiant, her time is past anyway, maybe the next Defiant should be a Dervish...

I agree. For the size of the mob we were fighting, I would have loved it if the Enterprise was off the scale. I only managed to lose my Excelsior once but toward the end of the battle I swear I was doing more damage than the Enterprise.

Come on, it's the ENTERPRISE!!! It needs to swoop in and one-shot the bad guys. She doesn't need to pull a Sulu "At least we've given them something else to shoot at."

You can't make a good dps-tank out of an Odyssey just by putting the name Enterprise on it.

I think what we saw was perfectly in line with what that ship class is capable of.
    Which isn't much.

I don't know. Until the Duras sisters, the Enterprise-D managed to survive a lot of things its sister ships didn't. "Fate. Protects fools, little children, and ships named Enterprise." I'm just saying the devs could have put the best stuff on the ship. It's not like they'd have to earn it. ;)

Might have been more impressive if a tractor beam repulsor hadn't nudged her out of frame as she warped in. :\

I found it funny when my glass like B'rel Bird of Prey Retrofit was in fine shape and destroying ship after ship.. and the Enterprise at the end was without shielding and down to about 10 percent hull.. and it joined in the middle of the fight... Must be the Captain, I certainly wasn't fond of him during the first mission.. Time to pull a Christopher Pike and get a replacement Captain for the Enterprise after its first episode yeah? lol

ok responding to both here. the ody class ship is more then capable i am a tactical officer and even without the benefits of engineering i can complete mission after mission with out being destroyed, (despite being destroyed allot in this battle.)

i would put wagers on it being a glitch in the game, and with this i used my engineering team on the ship several times!...:) i was concerned about failing to be honest

I couldn't help but want to send my carrier swarms to take out the Federation flagship after the fight. One less thorn in the side for the Empire in border skirmishes. lol

When fighting the Dreadnaught with my Gal-X, the Enterprise was concidentially out of range.

On a different note, the cut scene intro did remind of First Contact.

But none within reach of my tiny hands. Unfortunately I use QWEASD just enough that I'd be crippled if I used them for more abilities, and shift/ctrl modifiers confuse my poor motor skills.

Don't get me started on alt modifiers. If I had a dollar for every time I alt+f4'd accidentally out of a battleground in WoW and lost the match for my team... I'd have close to $15.

I felt the introduction was weak.

You should never introduce a new ship in a battle scene... It takes focus away from it, and makes it seem less important than the ship itself.

Enterprise was just "shown" like that... no cool introductions
Enterprise Refitted gets a "grand-tour" showoff, with a shuttle flying around it.
Enterprise A: Another ship fills the screen, flies to the side and BAM... there she is.
Enterprise B: Bottle of champagne flying towards it, breaking and the whole ship is shown.
Enterprise C: Ermerges from temporal rift. Ship is still in focus.
Enterprise D: Slow camera "tour" from bottom.
Enterprise E: Beauty shot, with flyby.
Defiant: Decloaks alone outside of DS9
Voyager: Beautyshot, with the ship docked at a upper pylon.

So why show off the Enterprise in a scene cluttered with so many other ships...

On further consideration, I'm going to agree with a previous poster. The awe-factor was lost because I passed by a fleet of Odysseys on my way to play that mission.

We didn't need to get the Odyssey when we did. We already had the winter event going on. We should have waited until next week. Enterprise gets its grand unveiling then we have the chance to get a freebie that is similar.

Honestly, it felt like "There's another starship coming in. It's one of the hundred we already saw." Other than the new bridge, there wasn't anything exciting about it. Even the new captain's speech kept me thinking "That's nice. Now how about you shut up and shoot your guns?"

    Captain Nog

What do you mean a ferengi cant be captain of the enterprise? Why not!

A starship captained by a ferengi will be the most pimped out ship in starfleet.

Nog can't be captain of the Enterprise-F because he disappeared along with the Enterprise-E and all of its crew--Nog was Data's Chief Engineer.

IMHO, this mission was probably not originally planned to feature the Enterprise. I bet when this was designed, they were hoping to get it out in April or May and introduce the Enterprise in the next FE, which was probably going to be August or so...

But I bey by July or so, they saw that they'd either get starved by Atari or a priority shift under PWE and so they worked the Enterprise in here.

I remember them talking about the enterprise being featured in this series already before the PWE purchase was officially announced...

I just think they could have re-modeled the final episode better... And the enterprise not being the flagship?

Who cares if I am the primary character in this story... the enterprise is the flagship... thats it...

I think it was an awesome tribute to Star Trek First Contact, which was a fantastic movie.
I wish the cut scene was a little longer and that Data was the Captain but over all it was cool.
