I was just trying to take a few shots of my ships but when I pasted they were all black.

I've been tweaking my computer a lot lately. Is there a setting I need to fix to take the screenshots again?

Oh, and when i copied, I pasted in paint first, then photoshop. Both were black.

You will find that screenshots are all automatically saved in the Screenshots folder inside you STO game directory. No need to Paste the screenshot capture. Just tap away and grab them latter.

Just looked--SOME are there, but not all.

Again, is there a setting I have to change/fix so they all go there?

And another thing--none of the menus are in the autosaved shots.

    Anyone have any ideas?

STOWiki Page has a guide ...

    http://www.stowiki.org/Screen_shot
You can take a screen shot in-game by hitting the PrtScn ("Print Screen") button on your keyboard. A compressed JPEG image file will be created. If you press Alt + PrtScn an uncompressed TARGA (.TGA) image file will be created. In either event, the screen shot images are stored in the {Local path to program}\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live\screenshots\ directory. The image saved does not include the User Interface, however.

To take a screen shot with the User Interface, use the command /screenshot_ui (for TGA) or /screenshot_ui_jpg (for JPG) in the chat box. You may also bind a key to this — /bind P screenshot_ui, for example, will bind the P key to the /screenshot_ui command.

I tried that. I've done it. It just suddenly stopped. It worked one day, stopped the next.

I play the game through Steam, so I use their F12 screenshot feature for all of mine. Is there any way to hide the UI for screenshots? It takes up a lot of space sometimes!

If you hit the <prt scr> key and use the STO screenshot feature, the UI os removed by default.

    the / command for a non-ui screenshot:

    /screenshot_jpg

If you do want the UI obverlayed:

    /screenshotui_jpg

And those screenshots are saved in the Screenshot directory under the STO\Live directory.

When I post, I usually tend to look to the last post date (not older than 30 days) and if the OP or previous posters aren't called "Archived Post" ;).

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

Wrong. In a lot of cases, if you take a screenshot with printscrn, it will not be saved in the screenshots folder of the game. Checked TONS of times. Almost in my case, i always neded to use an image editor to paste it and save.

Now, if you use the /screenshot command, it will place the screenshot in the screenshots folder.

I also have the blackscreen issues when i take an screenshot, but only when i use the /renderscale 2

¿someone knows how to fix this?

Actually, it will always put a screenshot in there unless you changed your keybinds or you have another program intercepting the key. If it always happens to you, and you didn't change the keybinds, it's also the latter.

Also, you're replying to a 2+ year old post.

No, i didnt change anything. And i am not alone, i remember to read something similiar time ago in the forums. And i dont have any other capturing programs associated to print scrn. In fact, when i use fraps i have other combinations of keys (and thats the only program i use to take screenshots).

And yes im replying to an old post, but its not my fault it is not closed / deleted. Sorry.
