This is where your money for the Jem'Hadar ship and Galor class is going, to feed a $2B industry. :(

I don't mind STO making coin, I just wish they weren't so aggressively going after my wallet.

I will admit it felt "aggressive" at first, but now I barely even notice the spam.

...Now that you've removed the System alert from your most-used chat tab, and disabled the option in the menu, right? :p

I will say this...I find this whole grabbag/lockbox thing akin to or even straight exploitation of the customer base. I will not try and be diplomatic by considering it a necessary evil as some on here do. We come here to play a Star Trek MMO. Right? Not just a stock Sci-Fi MMO. If the IP wasn't important...we'd all be playing MMO's like E.V.E. Online, ZERO Online, SWTOR or Anarchy Online. So truth be told...these cheap marketing ploys are pointless if Cryptic actually would appeal to our inner fanboy rather than just the huckstery they currently resort to. That is my take on all of this.

doesn't make it less aggressive, it does however indicate you have either 1 tuned it out, or 2 become conditioned to it. I see it each and every time it hits my screen. I unfortunately can't remove that dialog box, i need it for my Doffs.

It absolutely is exploitation. Instead of having a fixed amount for an item, people will pay hundreds (possibly thousands) to get it $$$. Ethics have been well and truly been thrown out the window.

it is aggressive if we can't turn it off.
We should be able to turn off the "Idiotic Spam channel" in the chat options.

Add an option to "Turn Off idiotic Spammy Drop items (cough*dropboxes*cough) and it would be a lot better.

Compared to the thousands of Cardassian Boxes that drop in STFs the Galor spam is hardly noticeable.

One would hope that anyone in the marketing department that saw this report. Would see how important it is to develop a higher grade "virtual good" other than a "Grab Bag" that the majority is against anyhow.
