Yeah, the odds of actually being hit by a large tornado is pretty slim. Even if the odds go against you, you are looking at an area of damage up to a mile wide and several miles long. Compare that to the "big one" waiting San Fran that would decimate the entire city. I'll take my chances here. At least with tornadoes I have a few minutes of warning.
So long story short my Dad was coming back from a business trip and his plane gets hit with lighting (nothing happened other than the expected loss of altitude and slowign of the engines). And then it turns out that apparently the storm his plane was in most likely went through a tornado cell haha.
As luck you have it the line never really got that organized. To be honest, we've had standard thunderstorms that were more energetic. Oh well, another shot tomorrow night (welcome spring).
