Hey all, I'm looking for a roleplaying fleet that can accomodate the following:
- Not a Trekkie - I've watched a good amount of Star Trek but not nearly enough to be versed in its nuances
- The character I want to RP with is currently level 12
- New to STO - this makes me inexperienced and a liability if you intend on doing end game
- No voice chat as I feel it damages character immersion; I refuse to use it
The character I want to play as is named Chezna Wassenberg. She's fresh out of Starfleet Academy and is a Tactical officer. Prior to her enlistment she served as a civilian captain and owned a small garbage tug, which was used occasionally for rescue assistance. While that gave her credentials as a Tactical officer she is familiar with a lot of different Engineering concepts, at least in terms of what stuff is made of and how it's wired. This comes from her pre-Starfleet experiences.
(I'm posting via my phone, which limits me to 1024 characters. I need to double post, sorry mods.)
Comments
Ensign Wassenberg is 23 years of age, a Human from Earth, has two older brothers and has not had extended experiences with other species in the Federation.
Why is this the character I want to play? I feel as though I have a lot of weaknesses when it comes to understanding the Star Trek races outside of Human, Klingon, Romulan and Vulcan, and so by playing a similarly "sheltered" character I can turn that weakness into a strength. It will allow both myself and my character to grow and develop, and I feel that will lend itself well to a roleplaying scenario.
I will play this character normally when not RPing, so as usual regardless of my game accomplishments, treat Chezna as an Ensign (unless she is promoted during RP). If anyone has interest in myself or in this sort of character, and if there is a spot in your story for me, send me some mail! Thanks guys.
Aloha K,
Welcome to STO. The Jevonite Order is an all Cardassian fleet (the few members want to be different then the normal Federation and Klingon), but we are a PvP, PvE, RP balanced fleet. We are casual and it doesn't matter how much or little experience a player has.
I understand it may or may not be your cup of tea, but we have RPs (Alterior (yeah i spelled it wrong) Motives) on this forum open to anyone and will be having Fleet Site RPs once we get a little bigger (open to other fleets and individuals as well). If you find us appealing great, but if not don't be afraid to visit the Jevonites and Cardassia.
Luck in finding what you desire.
This part may be an issue as I am not intimately familiar with the Cardassian peoples (I want to emphasize again that I'm not on top of Star Trek's races) and I intend on playing a human (to help cover those weaknesses).
Here is my character's in-game biography if anyone out there is interested. The idea is that Chezna is an Ensign without a lot of experience with the outside universe beyond the Sol system. She gained her rank partially through past experience operating small craft and partially through relation to her eldest brother, who is a successful Starfleet Officer. That relation gave her contacts she didn't know she had, and so she was moved along faster than she should have been.
That's fairly typical for reaching Officer ranks and bypassing the Enlisted ranks in the real world military -- people are able to do testing or otherwise show experience to skip ahead a few ranks. I figured that it would be a good launching point for the character.
If anyone wants a small craft expert aboard their crew (or just a general Tactical officer) please feel free to send me a mail.
If you are looking for easy going roleplay you can always try the 12th Fleet Medical Division ( http://forums.12th-fleet.com/index.php ).
We have ongoing In-game RP, Forum RPs and we're always open to suggestions for new things to try.
Whether you have in-depth knowledge or just like the shows, you can find a place with us.
Heck, even if you don't end up joining us, give us a shout! It's always nice to hear from other RP'rs.
Aloha K,
As I said before, my fleet may or may not be your cup of tea (your thing), but you are always welcome to join in our RPs or even seek our members out to team up in game. So, the olive branch is out there and good luck in finding the best fit for you. I've met a few from UFP and Pegasus; fewer from the TOS fleet. But the ones I've met have been outstanding people (not just players), try checking them out.
