Hey everyone,

I'm Max, and I've been running around here in STO, roughly for about two weeks now. I figured I'd throw out a hello on the forums, since it seemed the thing to do.

Anyhow, a bit about myself:

I'm 29, I've been fairly involved in gaming for well over a decade, have been a Trek fan for as long as I can remember, and to top it off I was born with cerebral palsy. I could add more, but that'd take all the fun out of trying to get to know me, right?

Anyhow, I've already hit VA with my Fed toon, and I haven't really dinked around with my Klink, but I'm sure in time that'll change. I'm also involved with a Fleet at the moment, but eventually I'll probably want to dabble in creating my own. Right now, I'm just going for the accolades and trophies, (Can we say unbalanced DOff Rosters, anyone?), though you won't catch me in PvP or (mostly) ground STFs any time soon. Lag does wonders...

I'll go ahead and wrap it up here, so I'll catch y'all on the grid, and maybe we'll run rampant in a fleet action some day. If you are curious to know my toon names, let me know and I'll give you the info.

Yo there. You are making me hungry for burgers. (got a chain of burger restaurants named Max here)

Being disabled is the most awesome fun that ever happened to me personally.
But enough about a life long life of pain and agony. *throws some glitter* We be here for the gaming!

And what is this "ground STF"? you are talking about? Is that one of the mythical creatures like Unicorns?

    Aloha my friend,

Looks like we'll be seeing each other around in game...just 3 hours difference.. I'm not quite at VA, but I'll get there just hope I can do it with a Galor (as you can see I'm Cardasian). The Jevonite Order welcomes you to the fourms.

    Nobody expects the STO Inquisition!

Hello Max, I'm "The most interesting man in the world," but folks in game call me "Black" or "Doc" - (NOTE: Black is in reference to "Paint it Black" - the song - it was my call sign in a game called Freelancer)

If you ever do STF Ground, the easier one is Khitomer Accord, with the second easiest being Infected Ground.

If you ever want to pair up for an STF or just a mission in general, feel free to PM me - here is my handle.

    @BlackV7

    Primary Toons:

    Reynolds@BlackV7 (FED)

    Kestra@BlackV7 (Klingon)

Tell me, do you drink Dos Equis while... Nevermind. *lol* I'm quite a fan of that particular Stones song, and Freelancer was the top dog back when I played it, oh so many years ago.

I'll definitely take up the offer for teaming, since that's all I can do until the Bajor size issue is fixed. (What can I say? I don't feel like hitting the "Skip' button...)

Also, knowing that people actually use a Klingon toon in conjunction with a Fed makes me feel like I'm neglecting that poor, ridge-headed, gagh-eating second toon of mine. I'm sure I'll get tired of the Fed grind and retro back. *lol*

Now, to loosen up my spastic arm and hand muscles by attempting to play 'Paint It, Black' on the acoustic...

Oh yeah, hit me up in game - I am willing to run FED or KLINK, your pick. Yes, Paint it Black is one of my Favorite Rolling Stone toons :D:cool:

I mainly play U.S. Eastern time and roughly on anywhere from 10am to about 5pm in the afternoon mon-fri - Fri I am on longer as well as Sat.

So feel free to join me in any of the FEs - I have a billion toons ranging from Lt to VA - same with Klinks - so I am on a different toon every soo often.

Just PM me using @BlackV7 anytime - also I just created a casual gamer Klink fleet called "House of Krytos" - so if you have any alts, feel free to stick'em in my casual fleet :D

    Welcome KG6EYR!

Much love and best of luck pal! You'll find me *****ing about cryptic or something either in DS9 or your local Zone chat.

If you ever need help give me a shout.

Thanks man, good to be welcomed! Seems like I'm already set to ***** about how people over-post on the bugs already mentioned in the tracker, but I can understand why they do. I suppose it's just my distaste of ignorance, who knows?

I'm sure you'll see me troll from time to time, especially in DS9 zone, simply because I can't help it with some of that failed troll-bait I see posted. *lol* Definitely will give you a shout if I'm in a bind, even moreso if my Fleeties can't bail me out.

If only they made a checksum filter for the value "ID-10-T" Hehe... Would make life so much easier.

Also, your avatar's got me wondering where I've seen that before... Which is awesome, by the way

Good to be here, even if it's two years after I initially registered. *lol* Also, I totally didn't think about that until it was mentioned. Yeah, it does sound dirty, but at least it has nothing involving a Tribble!

Sounds great to me. Honestly I've found that some of the KDF requires a bit more work to get off the ground, so unlike my Fed, I'll try to play my Klink with a bit more tact and strategy. (I mean, dumping every skill point into an all-round character with skills up to Commander being maxed isn't very good for utilizing full potential. Maybe I'll invest in a respec when I can afford it.)

I know the ships take a bit more getting used to, especially some of the aiming/firing arcs. At any rate, I'll be sure to give it a go. And as far as the wackiness, you better believe I'll be there to witness some! As long as it drowns out Zone chat, especially of the Tribble troll variety. *lol*

I've actually turned Zone chat off for the most part, because while there can be occasional fun stuff there, or a noob needing help, it's lost amidst the mindless chatter and arguments.

Anyway, PM me if you like and we can run some stuff.

*lol* I've thought about turning off Zone, but there are times where I'd feel too lazy to turn it back on, like when trying to find a fourth and fifth persons to fill STF slots. I tend to leave it on for the lulz, simply because something about watching the troll-foolery is just morbidly fascinating. Thought, I'm sure than in time, I'm gonna shut it off. Can the announcements (DOff assignment completion, new mail, etc.) also be filtered, shut off? I'd rather a shiny button flash, than have my chatbox (and subsequent fleet/team comms) become flooded by system messages.

Also, I need to post a rage/anti-troll disclaimer warning. I seem to either bark up the wrong tree, or feel right in raging at a trollish post... Just so I don't step on/break any fingers. ^^

I put zone and local in one tab, team and RP group in the second, and PMs in the third. That way I don't need to manually toggle on/off zone chat nor does each individual chat tab is at any risk of being flooded.

I like each chat mode separated so I don't have a situation where PMs from other players are lost and ignored (personal experience - hate sending repeat PMs).

You can set it all up in the chat options menu thing.

Oh, I plan to do some HUD and chatbox rearrangements. My only issue is that I'm running on two different PC's, so each time I log on, the globally saved settings need changed. If I'm not mistaken, I can write a local settings file, but I'm a tad too busy to focus on that right now.

I'll definitely do the tab setup there, as that sounds like the better layout. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, it's kind of a chore to re-do all the chat and HUD configs for each new character. Can't they make the settings permanent on the client side, anyway?
