I know I've been gone awhile...but her favorite part of the game is the Ground combat!?!

Hoping that this is just the exception as it doesn't seem all that different from before and it was the most universally hated side of the ground/space combat.

I lost track of how many times I would be exploring next to borg space at 45 back when and if it was one that required me to beam down (or aid the planet since you couldn't replicate the items back then) I would just warp out.

My favorite part is ground combat as well. I kinda liked it before the revamp. I'm very partial to it now.

Just needs more bug passes and more customization.

It's not just bugs, it also needs a serious balance pass. Some of the enemies, mainly some of the Captains and Commanders, can destroy my Tac officer with one grenade then the follow up attack while he's on the ground reeling. And this guy has Very Rare mk. XI armour and shields and has both the Peak Health and Resiliency trait... he's pretty much designed to tank and he can be all but one-shotted... and I'm talking about on Normal. That's absurd. Beyond that, my entire team can focus fire those Commanders and Captains and not put them down before they have the chance to execute two or three of my crew like that.

Beyond that the Randomite aliens from Random IV still seem to be almost as broken as they used to be, with among other things, their dual pistols of death.

And intentionally adding actual one-shot kills like the Thalaron weapons (which our BOffs are too stupid to avoid, because they're too busy uselessly smacking the things with their rifles), or invisible, unavoidable mines that ignore shields just doesn't help matters...

I like the idea of the ground combat, and I think it flows well when it's working, but a lot of stuff is very, very borked and that stuff comes up often enough to spoil much of (nearing all) of the fun. Honestly, in a lot of ways ground combat was better prior to the revamp.

Are these in exploration clusters? Because those all need to be nuked, IMHO.

I stopped doing clusters for the most part a year ago when they started talking about redoing exploration from scratch.

The Randomians? Yes. You don't find them anywhere else.

Beyond that the enemies are somewhat borked everywhere.

Pretty much every group of Romulans have thalaron weapons your BOffs are too stupid to avoid.

Pretty much every group of Jem'hadar spawns invisible mines that rip through shields and knock you on your butt.

And many of the captain and commander spawns have way too much health, and do things like toss grenades that floor you, evaporate your health, and which they quickly follow up with a coup de grace via their secondary fire which when coupled with the damage from the grenade is generally enough to be your end, essentially killing in, literally, under four seconds.

And I was just about to ask for some pointers on ground equipment cause my shields and 4/5 of my health seems to be gone after 1 or two hits (from fellow - but gone insane - starfleet officers).
