This is a hypothetical question. Let's say there will be more lock boxes, and each new lock box will have a new rare ship in inside. There is nothing anyone can do about it and they will happen. With that in mind, which ship would you want to see added? Which ship would you not want to see added. Are some ships more suited to the lock box or would make them more appealing or cause less rage over them?
Should they release ships from factions like the Romulans or the Ferengi, or go for something a little more 'out there', say a Xindi ship or a Tholian that we would never get to play anyway? Perhaps they should be something we have never seen before like a Tzenkethi ship so they are not iconic in any way? Should they be ships like the Tier 5 connie or one of the many alien ships seen over the years?
Personally I would like to see Xindi ships. I imagine that we will never have the Xindi as a faction (unlike Romulans or Cardassians) and it strikes me as a better bet to have something more unusual and a little less iconic in them. We know the Xindi join the federation at some point but we don't know when. There is still enough mystery and hostility to suggest why either the Feds or the Klingons might have access to their ships.
I would not want to see a Romulan ship. I think with their faction the next on the list I think it would be a bad idea to have a ship like that put in a grab bag and then a little while later become free for everybody. I think the romulan popularity would cause further backlash over a random chance ship.
The only grab bag I would go for is one with the Borg Diamond. It would go so well with my All-Borg/Synthetic Alt. Its a nice looking design without the overpoweredness of the Cubes.

Thoughts?
I think that your optimism has to be treated in sickbay. That much can't be healthy.
The only ship that could ever make me take part in anything grab-bag related would be a T5 retrofit Constitution. I don't want to hear anything about it not belonging on T5, it's much younger than the D'kyr, not much older than the Excelsior and it visually fits way better into the Federation than any Dominion bug or Cardassian fish.
Is there a way to suggest ships to NOT end up as rares?
I am a lts and you can look at my cstore purchase history to know that I'd happily pay 800 - 1600 to fly ships I like.
I'd love a DKora to go with my ferengi that I've played since ferengi were first put in the cstore... technically I even played him in beta.
I get that you guys are trying to generate revenue but all of the stories of lengths players have gone and not gotten the ships (this includes my own attempts to get the JemHadar ship).... means I am less likely to participate.
I have a demonstrated behavior of supporting ship purchases in the cstore but I draw a line... and the current arrangements y'all have means I'd lime to vote that the DKora NEVER EVER end up as one of your rare ships... because I'd actually like to pilot it.
We'd all love to have the Borg ships, of course, or Romulan/Reman ships. I think it would be great if there were some uber-rare crafting ability that would let us make some fo the ships from the series that were non-Federation. I would like the Tin Man ship, or maybe some of the lesser vessels like the Sheliak Corporate ship. Anything unique, you know...because we all want to be unique.

Well, the problem in that case is CBS. You have the choice, either the D'kora goes into the game in a grab bag, or it stays an NPC-ship. Basically this thread is a wishlist for ships CBS wouldn't allow as a normal item on the C-Store.
I don't want to see any more boxes, and the only two I would ever have even the slightest inkling to spring for would be a Wells Class timeship or an Aeon timeshuttle.

That's no ship. It's a space station.
they xshouldnt be hiding behind CBS.
Ships were put in the cstore to offset costs in development.
Ships like cardasian one and the dkora are already in the game.
CBS doesn't wanna see certain ships In wide spread use that's fine.
Cryptic/PW needs to earn money that's fine too.
I actually wanna pilot the DKora or other ferengi vessel and putting it in a grab means I wont get to unless I spend a ridiculous amount of money doing so....
make those ships hard to get. I'd grind for that and that's saying something.
so yeah... this topic is about What ships Wed like to see in the grab bags....
Put me down as NO on the DKora... a ship that's already in game and developed.
because putting it in a grab bag practically insures I wont get it so it amounts to the same thing.

I'd like nothing doing with Romulans. Still holding onto false hopes of one day seeing a Romulan faction playable. And I think if their ships are being used by Feds and KDFs alike then that would never happen.
You can get close with some Sci ships, but not as close as I wish.
Man, I always made that ship my hero ship in Armada.
I modded it into the Federation's starting lineup and everything once....
Yeah, but a C-Store or Grab Bag Premonition with a lovely Time Console would rule.
I, too, had a custom load out for Armada. Some times I would add a Premmie but often I would use a Nova modified to near-Sovereign size and a custom Special Weapon that unleashed a 360 degree Gravitic Ring that would hurl all surrounding vessels a large distance away but did very weak damage as a balance trade-off.
IMO, the only Romulan starship I could see presented in this way would be the TOS Romulan Bird-of-Prey. As TOS art seems not-so-welcome in STO. Although, we continue to be free to buy the USS Enterprise (t1 Constitution) via C-Store and the Klingon D-7 is available to KDF Commanders for free. I guess that really depends upon how many starship assets well be needed for a Romulan faction of any size. And if CBS is willing to let the design in as a part of this faction.
A Tholian webship could be fun. Enterprise version as it admittedly had improved art style over the TOS version. With the graphics for the Tachyon Detection Grid, offer a compression web for, say, 4 or more ships.
Typhoon-class dreadnaught that we have seen around forever.
The Dauntless from Voyager would be fun. It might even make sense for it to be a holo-ship like we see on the latinum store.
Though for the love of god, have the drop rate on these be at least 5%...this whole lockbox thing is a nightmare, no one wants to deal with this type of negativity in game its going to drive players away.

Oh, and needless to say I'd go mad at the chance to grab a Tholian ship.
I would want that First Federation ship that Balok used in "The Corbomite Maneuver"

i can hear the screams of 'overpowered' coming back through time.

No, seriously, I'm not going to give cryptic more ideas for their bags.;)

Ooo. I would spring for a Premonition Timeship.
or a selection of Borg ships, in any damn shape i want. Even Trapezium shaped.
What about the Multikinetic Neutronic Mine, aka the Rogue Borg Ship from "Descent"?
As for the Enhanced Voyager, now that you can combine Consoles on any ship, you can pretty much get that ability.
Plus there would have to be a good chance of actually getting it.
Or they could put that it the C-store as the skin that comes with the T5 Akira I hear is in the works.
Dauntless.

It would be sooo big it would require its own content. We all know how Cryptic is on content.
Ditto.
No more Grab Bags, Lotto Boxes, etc.
It's taking the last vestages of joy from this game, and Champions as well.
