New ST series???

I looked around a little bit, but havent found any updates on this.

Wondering if you guys have heard anything new, any rumours, leaks etc etc.

This link sums up what I already know.
http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/scifi/star-trek-tv-series-planned-takes-place-voyager.html

Furthermore, what would you like to see in this series? How could they improve on the previous series?
How could they make this one different? or how could they make this have more appeal to the wider audience???

And (heres the interesting one) who would you like to see cast in this series? This can be realistic, or just a wish list cast lol

----

Personally I would like to see an update of ships, clothing and sets to coincide with today’s pop culture, without compromising the original ethics/mechanics of the ST franchise.
The reason for this to make it have greater appeal so that we have more people watching and following the franchise.

I would also like to see the same season arch method used in DS9, so episodes do develop from one to another. (Although I think the link above says they are not looking to do this)

A fresh story line, while maybe introducing a new epic antagonist to spice things up!

I didn't have any ideas for cast, realistic or wish list. So I’m keen to hear what you guys come up with!

Happy posting,

Pulsar

I'm sorry to say this is old news, as you can see from the date, it came out last year in august, and many players including me have started a thread about this and other rumours of a new st series. The latest rumour going around which recent came out a week or two ago is this.

Halfway through this columns video shows a Hideki Fighter. Look for Spock on a devestated planet and you'll see a ship pass.

seriously dude, i dont know where this is going...

    So i guess...

A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: ''Ugh, that's the ugliest baby I've ever seen!'' The woman walks to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: ''The driver just insulted me!'' The man says: ''You go up there and tell him off. Go on, I'll hold your monkey for you

That, too, isn't really new. I heard about that one a few months ago.

It's an interesting concept, but it would certainly depart from 'traditional' Star Trek. It would undoubtedly be the most controversial ST production since the Abrams movie.

As long as it has nothing to do with new new JJ Abrams Star Trek, then I am satisfied. A series about Section 31, Department of Temporal Investigations, or Aegis (group that Gary Seven belongs to). Having a member of Aegis in 21st Century Earth would be interesting for a TV series. The other two would work better after Nemesis.

Time travel is overused, in my opinion. But Section 31 would be interesting to see.

personnaly star trek should stick to tv series and mkae movies for big events e.g. first contact. And that the new st series should go back to its roots when RIP Gene roddernberry made it. Timelinevise should be after nemesis e.g. a couple of years or have the new sries set what 10 years after nemesis that way the old cast can make apperances and look just right. Another idea would be the trn of the 25th century. But have it tng/ds9/voy/ent style. These moives are all about looks, reboots and not enough about story and continuing it.

"Necro-ing" means that the thread was inactive ('dead') until somebody brought it back to life.

It is a violation to post in a thread that has had 30+ days of inactivity, normally this thread would have been closed pretty quick, but Ten Forward isn't checked as much.

It's only expired by a few days. I don't see why it should be shut down if there's still a relevant discussion going on.

Hey, just telling you the rules that have been around for a long time. If it's 30 days sinse last post = violation and make a new thread.

[Rolls into the thread while activating Target Optics and unholstering the [Zombie Control Compression Pistol of Epicosity Mk XIV], shoots and vaporizes this exposed Zombie thread!]

This thread was raised from the dead (after no posts for 30 days or more) and it had to be put down.
Please remember to check the dates of threads; and if you find an old thread raised from the dead just report it and avoid posting in it.

Note that you're more than welcome to start a new thread on the topic (unless there is an existing thread on this topic that has been posted in within 30 days, in which case you can just continue to post in that thread)! :)

    Cheers,

    Alecto
