I was a beta tester and paid lifer I cancelled

I cancelled my account today and this is why.
1. I was having bug issues with the game and put in a ticket. I was then informed it would take a day or two before a response was going to be made.
The problem is that a new mission launched today and you should have people there to work on issues in real time and at least responded to acknowledge the issue.
2. Using a different charecter I completed the mission and had to purchase a key to open things I had earned in game play. Remember I was an auto billed paid subscriber.
3. To get the new associated ship I again had to spend more money.
4. You sold to a crappy FTP company.

So to sum it up
I was a beta testing lifer with auto bill pay
You sold to a crappy FTP company.
You released a broken episode with no support for it.
You introduced a system that requires me to spend more money to get what I earned in the course of play.

Ya know I watched he entire history of Star Trek disappeared with Enterprise and the new movie. This game was cool enough to keep the continuity. Now you use a business model that has alienated a dedicated fan. I hate to say it but I think its time to walk away from Star Trek. The nobility of the franchise is gone. The beer swigin hillbillies who only watch for bo*bs and bombs will inherite the franchise.

A "lifer" is someone who bought a Lifetime Subscription. You were a Subscriber. :)

Sorry to see you go but since STO is FTP you can keep playing or comeback whenever you want without paying a dime, so going from Gold to Silver isn't really a big deal. I have many friends who went to Silver with FTP. Maybe you'll feel differently at another point in time.

Good luck with whatever games you play in the future.

Moreover, the Lock Boxes were additional loot drops and were very explicitly said to require purchase of a key regardless of your account type. That isn't a bug, it's what Cryptic has released them as. These drops are a limited time thing and in no way 'replace' the drops you would have normally gotten. You were under no obligation to purchase keys to open up these bonus drop items- you could have just ignored them like most of us do.

Sorry to see you go, maybe check back in a few months to see if any of the things you have issues with get rectified, now it's F2P it's easy to take a break and come back without having to worry about spending anything.
