- I was in a team of two, and after I left the conference room, my partner was unable to. The conference room door had a gear icon on it, but when he approached the door, the option to leave the room was not there. To fix this problem, he had to re-log, before the option was made available. I then had to re-invite him to the team quickly, to prevent him from being booted from the map.
- Our computers were next to each other when we played, so I was able to see that though the "waiting for other players to complete their dialogue" box popped up for me after I made a selection, he would often not get the option to proceed further in the dialogue tree once I selected a response. Rather than his dialogue continuing, it would end for him after his next selection. This is tough to describe, so I hope it makes some sense...
Thanks Cryptic... I really enjoyed that episode and can't wait for more of them. I liked the voice-overs, as I don't require them to be uber-expensively done to enjoy the life they bring to the story. I particularly enjoyed the voice-overs for Ambassador Surah, the Cardassian, the Gorn, the Ferrengi and the Starfleet Captain.
I love the care and attention to detail that went into re-creating the conference room, the dialogue options and of course, the cut-scenes. Hopefully the rest of the community treats you well for this creation, because I think you're all deserving of high priase!
Aside from the sound issues that I still have on DS9 it was fun.
Also, I am not to thrilled with the Jem'Hadar Rifle or set pieces being unique and thus equip my BOFFs with sets. This should probably be changed so we can do just that.
1.) So Klingons get represented by the Gorn, a servitor race? I was playing as a Klingon, being ordered around by a Gorn. Not at all convincing.
2.) Voice-overs were not at all convincing and there was background noice
3.) The Dominion is led by a human female??? The Vorta controlled the Jem'Hadar, servants to the Founders.
4.) Engineers Trays were disabled.
5.) So let me get this, there's a HUGE crisis about the Borg, then all of a suddenly the Dominion attacks and we magically forget about the Borg ...
6.) NPC animations were random. I was talking to a patron in the bar and she was typing on a wall console?
7.) Got disconnected like 20 times, and then was told I could not be authenticated, and then when I was I was standing in line behind some 400 other frustrated players, only to have to start the mission over.
8.) Not a single gold drop box.... Actually I got one green one across 6 toons.
The Tellarite speaker guy sounds incredibly sloshed when he opens up. He doesn't actually slur his words or anything, but it gives you enough of an impression that your mind does it for him.
I would like to see the emote sequence that every single VO'd character uses removed- it really looks ridiculous. For instance, there's a scene when Andrews does it despite not being engaged in visual communication and there being nobody else in Ops. S'tass does it, and looks utterly ridiculous, especially because the timing for it isn't always the same, so while the 'point and cross arms' segment looks okay, the 'I'm holding an invisible ball' segment looks hilariously bad.
The Andorian Captain too often gets the "I'm actually a super hero/We have to make a stand here" part, which looks somewhat okay, although I really wish you'd go back and come up with some specific emote sequences rather than just having one long one on a loop.
I didn't liked it very much, the history was not appealing, I didn't felt the rush of the jem'hadars coming, it was expected and not exiting.
The first "diplomatic" missions, boring.
And to the end, but for me highly important, not the minimum multiplayer support, I did this mission with a friend, he lost most of the dialogs and only got one window telling him to wait for me, he was not able to leave the conference room and had to disconnect twice to join me, finally and sadly he was not able to finish the mission...
By far, the most dissapointed FE EVER.
It seems that we have people more worried about creating scamming shemes like the cardassian boxes than talented people for creating good quality content.

I agree. Another thing is that the Bolian person in the bar was a bit clowny and annoying... and I'm disappointed in one of the things in the conference room: After you choose a dialog option, I wish it would show you talking and the others' response. And the Andorian was "I'm a superhero! Come look at me!", and sort of weird acting. The Jem'Hadar Full Auto was disappointing, I thought it would be strong, but it was not very strong... and the mission was too quick... also when the Jem'Hadar comes up behind the DS9 Ops Room person, he doesn't knock her out, she just faints... which is confusing... did he use The Magical Mastermind Disable?
I'm still trying to get through the first part of the mission. I've had to drop/restart three times now because the optional USS Belfast repair Doff tasks keep getting jacked up. either they fall off the task list, or complete but fail to move to the completed list so that I can acknowledge the completion.
when did STO get Cobra Commander to play a Gorn
Confrence room I like it when you all agree the dumbfounded looks on thier faces when the ships come through classic ground and space battel

When the lizard says "My Empire" ajjajaj as the manager of the script knows nothing of STO at least with respect to the Klingon Empire.
But maybe the captain leaves the station leaving behind his officer alone in the command room ajajaajaj that Starfleet captain would be so cowardly to do that?
And poor poor finish, I hope to improve a lot.
Qapla!!!!!!!
Actually, the Gorn acting this way told me that the Klingon empire is, while facist and extremely militaristic, not racist and allows any able member of any of the empire's species to have a vital function in the empire.
Either that, or the Klingons saw this whole conference as a waste of time and had to send someone to show that.
the quest was bug ridden to the point of unplayable. The ambassadors all were lying on the ground but acted like they were moving.
The jem haddar would fire at you and become invisible and reset...moving at warp speed back to their areas. Then they would come back to aggro you and reset. I saw red circles moving on the opposite side of the zone running towardsme even after I had died to reset.
The voice acting was horrendous when it was coupled with the animations. Some of the gestures especially the grandiose threatening ones made no sense when they were used in conjunction with the speech. There was no feeling in the words...the actors need to use more feelings....not sound so monotonous..
The Gorn vo was satisfactory.....//the andorian was not done right and it sounded like the voices were reorded in my garage recording studio.... the echoes from their voices did not match the room they were in....or maybe my 7.1 sound system made em sound wrong but i am doubtful of that.
The gal who spoke in a Scottish accent lost her accent at times....at least it felt that way to me...I have a whole ton of scott friends and therefor this realy stood out. Maybe she really is a scott and has an accent i am not familiar with too or she is irish..I dunno:P. the scream from her as she dies was not proper either....the animations of the jem haddar walking to her and stabbing her did not coincide with her yelp...
The space battle afterwards was abyssmal. Most of the attacking ships were stuck in the scenery aka DS9..
The ending scenes if done properly would be a great TO BE CONTINUED but after all the sub standard garbage i was left with the impression that this was another boring episodic content that was not properly done and noit properly refined afterwards with post production.
I must say.....very dissapointed. Vey amateurish at best. I would expect to see content like this on the foundry with limited tools..not from developers such as cryptic and their new boss company.
Its feel like the 2800 bugs episode....after a entire year of waiting...i was impatient to run this episode...Its have a lot of good idea, a lot of good things...but it is lacking of polish !
I am disapointed. How it is possible that you can give us such unfinnish episode ? You seem to give more attention to other thing like cardassian box, galor and other money maker thing that the episode we all wait for a long time.
/Joke ( its all we have now btw)
Soon on STO.
The Unbug mystery box
New box have been add to the game, when you find one, you need to purchase a Master Bug key in the cstore for 100cp. This box contain a fix for one of the bugs you have encounter.
/end joke.
Finnaly, i think that a lot of mission from the foundry are better shape and better polish than the one given to us by Cryptic...its a SHAME ! The only thing that i can give you credit for now is the voice acting and videos, things that players cant add to foundry mission for now...but when this time come, please stay away of develloping new episode and let player do this sort of work, they are doing this better than you.
The mission was okay - a lot to do and a good mixture. But the emotes were completly out of the order! I felt like playing a kids cartoon. Sometimes there were no animation at all, like the killing of Kurland...then the expression of emotions was badly exaggerated...there were also a lot of bugs which had to be clear to Cryptic if they would have played the mission once in a team. So if this is the quality we can expect of two(!) series per year there is nothing worth on waiting for it.
1) No Engineer abilities available
2) Teammate locked in conference room
3) When teamed, Healing Security Office doesn't trigger optional
4) First run, talk to priest/monk no kanar says it's evil, never found kanar. Second run monk says kanar is evil, I get Kanar
5) While in team, stem bolt guy's only dialogue is "Did you find a buyer for my stem bolts"
6) Ran it 3 times with teammate. I completed each time. Teammate gets message to warp to Bajor at the end but does not get completed dialogue. Mission says go to DS9, no reward, 3 times in a row. She has given up for tonight, too frustrated to try again. Can't say I blame her.
7) Even trying to get it started with a team is a nightmare. Both take mission both in team, bot click go to DS9, each in their own instance. Had to drop and exit and retry like 5 times to finally get it going.
8) Doff mission disappears if you go to your roster tab to uncheck "Newly Acquired" or whatever filter because for some reason that filter on that tab carries over to other tabs so show entire roster shows only the new DOFFS. If you go over my bug reports, you'll see I mentioned that bug a month or so ago. Oh and BTW, dept head recommendations are still TRIBBLE. More likely to show a DOFF with failure attributes that crit attributes.
9) You got the space combat right... well except for mob pathing around DS9, they get stuck everywhere.
My wife has not played since the content drought started a year ago. I told her about the new FE and she was excited to try it out. By the end of this 2 hour fiasco listed above, she was frustrated, upset, and nearly in tears. After a year, this is the garbage you guys are producing? Does the dev not have a single friend to test this FE in a team? Like most of STO's missions, it's best played solo as there are far fewer bugs in it. My wife was sitting next to me at her computer during this, I can only imagine how frustrating this would be if teammates were not in the same room. We are both gold members, continuing to send money each month to support the game during this last excuse-filled year. $30 / month for 12 months, so we paid $360 for this craptastic episode... oh yeah, and the scarfs from the winter wonderland (as in wonder where all the other events are like in most mmo's). It's embarassing. But by God you got those grab bags working flawlessly. Shame on you Cryptic.
I played through as the Federation, then tried to play as my Klingon character. And this is where the whole thing falls the frack apart.
As a Klingon I get contacted and invited to go visit DS9 for the conference. But when I try to get there "You are not a Marauder yet so you can't travel into that space unless someone gives you the temporary right to do so". I'm getting fracked over by this whole piece of sh#t Marauder scale they placed onto the Kilingon for traveling to other areas of the game. Why in the HELL would you put in new content but then TRIBBLE long time players from getting to it??? I've had a lot of fun with my Klingon character in PVP fights doing what they are designed for. But now you add some more content I can try out and I can't get to it unless I debase myself asking someone to grant me rights, or, spend weeks doing stupid duty officer missions to slowing build up Marauder points to 100,000 so I can "earn" it. WTF!!!!:mad::mad::mad::
Oddly enough, doing this mission actually broke my key settings. For some reason my top 1-0 buttons no longer do anything in game. They did until I went into this mission.
I'll agree that after a year of waiting this start was highly disappointing. There's a lot of potential but it sorta felt like a Foundry mission. There are some neat knew things (Doff assignments were good, apparent racial/faction quest options are good) but the meat and potatoes of the mission was seemingly untested and overall came across poorly. The ideas are there and the intention appears to be there but the execution was lacking.
Perhaps if the last FE hadn't been nearly a year ago we wouldn't have beaten on this episode so much. But there were several design and dialog and story things that felt odd. Even the Diplomatic options felt awkward and as if all the people I used them on were suddenly brainwashed by my 1-2 sentence Diplomacy. It's not like there couldn't have been a couple dissenting opinions who were then swayed by the re-appearance of the Dominion fleet...
I felt like even some of my Foundry missions felt as good as this mission, which is scary because I've never spent more than about 3 hours on any of them and am using a stripped down version of the tools that it took days (weeks) of use to make this...
It was decent, but wanted to point out a few bugs (I see some of these have already been mentioned):
-In the station fighting, few engi abilities allowed. Which ones weren't was odd, though... no drones, no phaser turret or shield/med, but force barrier and quantum mortar are okay? Orbital bombardment okay? I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.
- Of the two times I've done it (want to get the different rewards!) each time I get close to the last passage before the boss I see an 'ops' notice. This ops notice is, in fact, the 'welcome to DS9!' you get at the start of the mission. Not a deal-breaker, but fairly silly.
- Not sure if intended, but at the station boss it's easy to shoot down each of the supporting soldiers one by one before 'pulling' the boss. Again, silly.
- Attack ships get frequently stuck in/inside of DS9. Again, it's possible to proceed despite this, but it's another silly thing.
Oh, and making a mystery lockbox a possible replay reward? Somewhat poor taste in my opinion, seeing as everybody's already drowning in them and it's only the opportunity to gamble. At least it's not the only choice...

Um...
Can't you get access to that Sector Block by going through Deferi space?
...
3.) The Dominion is led by a human female??? The Vorta controlled the Jem'Hadar, servants to the Founders.
.
.
..
Now that you mention it... she lacked some serious paleness that I remember from the Vortas in the show. Also these bright, shiny eyes... but thats not for sure, maybe we get a close up of her in a followup episode.
I'm just not sure what to do with a jem-hadar BOFF. Might be ok with my colorful KDF crew, but for my UFP crew a convinced vorta would be such a better addition
Overall it is a good episode and I look forward ot the rest o the series. However, I also have a few things I think should be addressed for future episodes:
a) The character animations (in vutscene videos and in game) are overanimated. Here less is more and it would look better if the animation would simply focus on very vew emotes.
b) The story flow was a bit odd. While the plotline itself was ok, it did not flow very smooth as it went from Trek diplomacy gameplay to ground invasion to space combat with some holes in teh story and concept.
In any case, I am glad to see the new feature episode and look forward to the next one.
I understand there are some bugs, and some people don't like the VO, but I'm glad to see most people seem to like it.
I think the main issue that most people have with the VOs is that most of them talk... like.... Kirk... when... he... tries... to... emote...
So all the voicing is very hammy and there's a lot of spacing between words. With the exception of like, Andrews, S'tass and maybe Kurland, none of the characters actually talk like real people.
I do *like* the VO work, but the lack of talking like real people sort of breaks my suspension of disbelief, because I'm trying to pretend this is like an episode of DS9, and everyone's emoting like Kirk- and it's just too ridiculous.
If I had to guess, I think it'd be because you record your VO tracks separate of eachother, and your characters aren't actually engaged in actual conversation- at no point does a character say one thing, then someone else responds, and then it goes back and forth.
So your VO's are probably just looking at the entire script for their segment and acting it in a vacuum. Taking that into account, it's pretty fine work, but...
Yeah.
And because I need to restate it whenever the subject comes up: Every NPC that has voiced dialogue that talks in any mission, cutscene, or hail, uses the same chain of 'I'm talking about something important" emotes. It's sort of like the dance mix, but even more ridiculous.
For the love of all that is Trek, do you suppose you could truncate those? Or turn them off altogether?
They don't add anything of value to the cutscenes, and honestly ruin the VO work, because you just can't take them serious. This isn't unique to the 2800 Ep 1- every voiced character ever does it.
Examples of emote sequences (it appears to be looped, because I've seen each of the delegates doing each of the emotes)
1. I'm holding an invisible ball and describing it to you with my hands.
2. These fists are the fists of a god, for I AM THOR (AKA: the 'I'm a superhero' emote)
3. Point and sneer, then cross arms (About the only decent section)
4. Wave arm over head in circles, gesture outward at chest level, repeat.
I'll need to go play it again to catch the others, if any.
Ideally, the "Point angrily, sneer, cross arms" part would be made into its own emote, and applied to S'tass when he starts talking. Extend the crossed arms part and just leave him like that.
Number 4, which I often see Surah doing is alright, but could probably be done away with. Just having him stand up and start talking would work better.
Shon (The Andorian captain, IIRC), does the Superhero emote all the time, and the angry point, sneer, arms cross. Instead, he should just cross his arms. do the angry gesture emote and then cross his arms and alternate between the two.
Kurland should do the invisible ball emote when he's talking about the groups coming together, but otherwise should just default to the 'relaxed' stance.
The Tellarite speaker guy needs more lines- when the delegates are fighting, he needs to go "Gentlemen, gentlemen, please..." before having the player speak.
There's an issue at the end of the mission where Andres just skips and falls as Karakukan walks up behind her. Also when he beams in there's no transporter noise. It would be better if there was a noise, Andres looked up (while in the middle of her convo with Kurland) and Karakukan *shot* her. She can crumple as normal.

Well actually you're supposed to go through Eta Eridani and Orellius to Beta Ursae to get to DS9 for Klingons, or transwarp to the mission. That should've been better explained...by being explained, considering all the new people in the game since F2P.
I can see why it took you guys so long to release this FE, and it may have come out a bit too early still.
The Wormhole is transparent, so it looks like the Dominion fleet just pops up and says "Surprise!"
The purple nebula is WAY too big that it becomes distracting. It wasn't that big in the show, and it starts to give me so much of a headache after a while that I have to make an effort to turn the camera way from it, even if there are ships in there.
The cutscene emotes just detract completely from the dialogue (character says something relatively calm and they're expression is "KHAAN" animation...,). In some cases its just garish to watch because it's so disproportionate to what is happening.
Everytime you go into a cutscene the entire station seems to be flooded with Dramatons, and the Jem'hadar get one hit kills or even just walk up behind certain Irish commander and they just drop dead.
Also had the unfortunate experience of her merging into the deck and having her head level to the Jem'Hadar Alpha's crotch...
The escaping runabouts should be maybe escaping so I don't have to fight with them and my cursor to target the Jem'Hadar ship I want to attack.
The Jem'Hadar should be attacking around the station rather then circling like a bunch of vultures considering they can't seem to avoid the station.
Whatever happened to the station's torpedo turrets?
Why are the Jem'Hadar warping in after coming from the Wormhole? You blow one up Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort and then three more warp in to take its place for no apparent reason.
The cutscenes need to be skippable.
Storywise there are a few glaring "What?" moments.
Why is there no Klingon ship present to defend DS9. Did the Klingon representative get dropped off and asked for his crew pick him up next to the Bajoran Quiznos?
Why is there no one in Ops when the Dominion arrive?
Surah seems to be under the impression that any consensus will go in favor of defending the Defari, which is a bit presumptuous, unless he'd be okay with the complete evacuation of the Deferi as refugees.
What happened to the stations shields? There's NO indication that the Federation would ever consider a large armada of Dominion warships friendly, so there should at least be a mention of "Hey, maybe we should put up the shields" so it doesn't feel like the Dramatons have decayed into Faileron Radiation. Replayed the episode, the reason why I thought this is because there's nothing connecting the Space scene with the ground scene. So from the viewer's perspective, it seems like its an immediate transition from The Dominion has arrived to the boarding action, rather than the fighting that was probably prohibitive to cutscene.
Where are the MACO and Honor Guard while all this is happening?
Whelp DS9 has been captured by the Dominion and a massive hostile armada now controls DS9. Time to go to DS9 to use my bank...wait...
So whenever I see that Tellerite Admiral in an Explore, should I assume I'm speaking to his hologram, or his ghost...or pretend he didn't really die?
The Duty officer UI for the three missions is boffed, but it's usually boffed so that one slides. Replayed the Episode, sometimes it just refuses to show the text for Success, Critical Success, Failure and Disaster, but instead just shows the symbols.
I played through as the Federation, then tried to play as my Klingon character. And this is where the whole thing falls the frack apart.

Did you try using the icon in the missions area to just warp there? Also, you can get there via Defari (sp?) space. Don't try via Sirius Block it's not needed. So from outside Qonos you go left and change instance. Then left and change instance. Then Down and you're in the sector space you need to be. But, I'd just use the warp option.
After watching it 4 times im done with it, (the cute scene is 2.20 min long ) i want to go further with the mission... not watching it over and over again

This was my take on the situation.
KDF: "Borg Conference? Pfffft. . . send some Gorn. . ."
I understand there are some bugs, and some people don't like the VO, but I'm glad to see most people seem to like it.
Yeah and you can also transwarp to it for a whole 100 credits ...
Storywise there are a few glaring "What?" moments.
Replayed the episode, the reason why I thought this is because there's nothing connecting the Space scene with the ground scene. So from the viewer's perspective, it seems like its an immediate transition from The Dominion has arrived to the boarding action, rather than the fighting that was probably prohibitive to cutscene.
The Duty officer UI for the three missions is boffed, but it's usually boffed so that one slides.
Replayed the Episode, sometimes it just refuses to show the text for Success, Critical Success, Failure and Disaster, but instead just shows the symbols.
Let us skip the cute scenes ( conference room)
After watching it 4 times im done with it, (the cute scene is 2.20 min long
