Unfortunately the drop rate for these ships (on an individual basis) is likely quite low. I measured the drop rate for the Jem'Hadar ship in the last grab bag. You can see the results here:
    http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=246648

While it may look like many people are getting the ship, with ~15 - 20 being broadcast every hour right now, that is slightly misleading. People are still opening over 100 boxes and not finding any ships. On an individual basis, your odds of getting the ship are still quite low. Since there are thousands of players opening boxes (some just a few and some open many) we still see people finding the ships all the time.

Unfortunately what is not captured in these system broadcasts is individual frustration and disappointment, as is expressed in your post.

Read through my measurements on the odds for the Jem'Hadar ship (first 2 posts in linked thread) and decide if you want to continue to pursue the Galor. Good luck.

I wish I read your thread before wasting $ for 5000 cpoints.

Hopefully it helps someone else save the cash....and if something should come from all of this commotion that required craptic to issue refunds....I'd feel an sense of vindication.

I have come to conclusion again Cryptic screwed us over with this.
    1. you have to buy a key for 100cr to open box
    2. box drops TRIBBLE 99.9% of time i am sick and tired of batteries
    3. they are only out for money so all these people that flash on screen like every 5 seconds I would love to know their secret on how so many are getting these ships that hardly any of us are getting? I am tired of spending money just to get a box with batteries or more worthless stuff... where are all these so called great drops?

its Like Cryptic is throwing it in our faces over and over again see this person got one etc. Not cool

please ignore the notification spam, go outside of ESD and look around if you SEE any of those ships!

i have been flying around for 2 days and did see maybe two.

i did see a lot more Jem Hadar Ships flying around than i see Galors now.

also, i am kinda disappointed, when i've finally seen it i noticed that the front Beam Array looks all wrong.

    how it should look:

    1: http://www.startrekdesktopwallpaper.com/new_wallpaper/Star_Trek_Cardassian_Galor_Class_Warship_freecomputerdesktopwallpaper_2560.jpg

    2: http://www.shipschematics.net/startrek/images/cardassian/warship_galor.jpg

STO (only pic i have handy):

    http://www.startrekonline.com/dyncontent/startrek/uploads/galor_blog_020812.jpg

The front beam weapon is a lot wider, which just looks wrong to my eyes.

Not sure i want to spend lots and lots of cash on a Ship that looks wrong to me...
i tried 8 green boxes now and i decided that i will not buy any more keys for those.
if i find a gold box, ok i try again with those, but if they are as rare as the red boxes in the winter race i probably won't see any.

The Jemhadar Attack Ship grab bagshowed Cryptic tha there are enough players out there who happily spend hundreds of $ in Cryptic points just to get a different looking ship. So since this business model works Cryptic will bring on much more of this things in the future.

I already see the following ships in grab bags:

    Steamrunner
    Ambassador
    Kumari
    ENT BOP
and much of the otherships which have been asked for by the poplance.

Sorry to hear it.. but you bought into the scam... there is no compensation, other then the fact PW/Cryptic is making enough money off this stuff to keep STO going.

Sadly, I feel you hit the nail right on the head Hawks. All those of you that spent money on the Christmas gift boxes trying to get the Jem Haddar ship, I hope you realise that your greed and short-sightedness have doomed us all to a future of CP lotteries for any new ship that is in any way special - thanks a bunch

I got 2 galor class ships.. first 3 boxes I got one...then about 20 mins later after spending 1800 c points I got another.. I am not going to use it ...looks like it is a waste... nothing special... I like the jem ha'dar ship better..

all you get is spiral disruptors.. that are purple.. I might steal them.. but I wasted enough time and money on getting purple techyon cannon's and purple quantum torpedoes..

I got like 5 cats.... 5 runabouts...a bunch of horta's... and some other TRIBBLE.. I had like 800 cpoints.. and bought 4000 more points.. now I am back to like 600 points.. bought 2700 on master keys.. and bought the boxes on the exchange.. with EC ....

    Steamrunner

Side note steamrunner is already a skinned ship in the game.

As for these douchey cardy boxes, we are dealing with a PW now not cryptic. All PW care about is making money not investing in fairness or decent gameplay e,g, when was a bug fixed last? "hint hint, it wasnt the bar fight in Night of the F*ing comet* that still glitches.

I posted in another thread, to make this something the players would of liked is simple. Don't wallet-TRIBBLE us with these 100cp keys, make them a damn random drop like the boxes. Or here is another brilliant idea, dont make them locked, maybe add a mini-game, something that uses our brains and rewards those who can use them. Or even better, lets not have random drop boxes, and actually make rewards for in game achievments that unlock these items. BTW yes Vets need some more perks, come on another ship slot, give me something a lil more useful then that ya bunch of stingy f*cks.

The big thing I am surprised at so far, is that PW hasnt introduced a perk system for spending c-points like other games where sheer quantity of c-points spent or bought unlocks rewards .

I shudder to think what PW does to the game next.

I hate this system. Its left a bad taste in my mouth. I am really not sure what to make of this. Its hard to stay focused on trying to have fun in this game.

i say let the silver players play the lottery give us vets the opportunity to buy the grab ships with cpoints or something similar,we pay a monthly sub already without paying loads more real cash for grab bags

I would tend to agree, I sometimes feel a little sorry for the Dev's I'm sure some of them hate this business model as much as we do.. PW rammed it down all our throats.

    -Cheers

It's almost too distracting to even play with the spam messages constantly making me put my attention on them instead of the game. If they don't let me turn off the spam I guess I'll have to quit playing...and I buy lots of stuff in the cstore, but am not going to buy these keys and support this type of games of chance.

Well, what can I say....I was compulsive and made a poor decision.

I said this with the crappy Galaxy X and I faltered but I'll say it again....

Craptic isn't getting any more of my money!
