I feel compelled to say this...

I have a few... complaints/observations i would like to share with everyone and cryptic. Just constructive feedback here, but I want to know if everyone else is experiencing similar things.

1. the drop rate on the cardassian lock boxes is outrageous. i mean, utterly, incomprehensibly outrageous. i ran 3 STF tonight in a 45 min. time frame. in that time frame, i counted 15 lock boxes dropped as loot- not counting the ones we get at the end. that is crazy crazy CRAZY stupid- its a blatant money grab, and cryptic, you should be ashamed of yourselves. i could probably handle at the end in the loot bags, or as random drops- but 15 in 3 STF? unacceptable. its rubbing salt in the wounds and saying "look, were going to TRIBBLE you some more". if youre going to TRIBBLE with us, at least make it a tad less obvious mmkay?

2. i realize that you have "listened" (i would argue you have twisted) feedback from the community on various issues. thats fine- even if you make the wrong choice that is the exact opposite what the player base wants, at least you have listened. so listen to this, please. i may not speak for the entire community, but judging by the comments in zone chat and fleet chat, please, for the love of Q, stop spamming whoever gets a galor ship. we dont care, we dont need to know, and its just plain bad form of you to do this. whatever marketing strategy you wanted this to be, it has backfired- no one cares who gets the ship, and honestly if i was one of those who got a galor (i am not, btw), i wouldnt want my name plastered all over the system. if your going to throw out a system wide message, please dont clutter up my screen in doing so- having to see that message along with what everyone on my team passes/needs/greeds on is bad enough, which should also be taken care of. screen clutter is bad, and distracts us from playing the game and is an eyesore.

3. regarding STF drop rates. i see what you have pulled here gozer, and it was clever, but ive caught on. you did in fact up the drop rates. however, the past 3 nights i have become convinced that you only upped the common tech drop rates, not the rare or the prototype drop rates. so, to the masses, its like "hey cool i got a tech drop!". unfortunately, i have gotten 6 common tech drops over the past 3 days, with a total of between 12-15 STF. the loot table should be fixed THE RIGHT WAY. im sick of not being able to trade, sell or even give away my common tech because it is bound to me. i dont care about the dilithium because i already have enough equipment over my 3 toons, so trading it in, even for cpoints, is worthless to me. there should be some sort of system in place, if not to trade up to mk xii, then at least let those of us that have multiple common tech drops to trade a set number of them in to receive a mk xi requisition. or make them bind on use/equip, not pick up. i would have love to set up a random noob F2P person with a full mk x set because they are of no use to me- but since i cant, i believe this is a fair compromise.

sorry for the long rant- just feels like every time we try to give good constructive feedback, it gets spat in our face, put on some list, and gets thrown back at us in some form no one asked for. if thats the direction of the game, then so be it. at this point, im not mad, not angry. im just meh. who cares?

and thats the last thing you want players to feel- anger or joy are good in a sense that the player still has some sort of vested interest. feeling neutral can lead to a large drop in player base. just so you know cryptic.

Those are just a few of the points of what is wrong with this situation. When you alienate your paying playerbase with shoddy work and no support, you must go free to play to get new players into the game.
I've been in support queue for 16 hours as of this post, not a peep from any of the staff. Requesting support on the site is not an option, the REQUIRED drop down menus are broken so you can't even file a request. These guys are phoning it in big time. If a simple support site is that messed up, you can imagine why they have "maintenance" every other day for the actual game. Shiny graphics can never make up for the massively bugged content. Also the page to buy points is non-working for me. Maybe because I refuse to pay Moneybrokers extra money for the privelage of spending my own money. Very obvious why they were forced to go free to play or shut the doors. I subscribed to 2 gold accounts because I am not allowed to buy Cryptic points to get my extra player slots. Very shoddy management in my opinion.

Actually the drop rates are very very low.

Your not looking for a green uncommon lockbox. Those are trash. Your looking for a gold one.

The more drops you get the better even if the vast majority of them are green ones since it is a visible indication of improved chances increasing the odds of eventually getting a gold box.

Think about every green box that drops as a die roll attempt that failed in being a gold box.

The green ones are spamming as hell, did some normal story missions with a newb friend of mine and all we got were these boxes, tons of it. I mean it is obviously that this cannot stay this way, I would accept this as an event but this? really...give me my normal loot back lol

    3. regarding STF drop rates. i see what you have pulled here gozer, and it was clever, but ive caught on. you did in fact up the drop rates. however, the past 3 nights i have become convinced that you only upped the common tech drop rates, not the rare or the prototype drop rates. so, to the masses, its like "hey cool i got a tech drop!". unfortunately, i have gotten 6 common tech drops over the past 3 days, with a total of between 12-15 STF. the loot table should be fixed THE RIGHT WAY. im sick of not being able to trade, sell or even give away my common tech because it is bound to me. i dont care about the dilithium because i already have enough equipment over my 3 toons, so trading it in, even for cpoints, is worthless to me. there should be some sort of system in place, if not to trade up to mk xii, then at least let those of us that have multiple common tech drops to trade a set number of them in to receive a mk xi requisition. or make them bind on use/equip, not pick up. i would have love to set up a random noob F2P person with a full mk x set because they are of no use to me- but since i cant, i believe this is a fair compromise.

I have also noticed this being the case. I get tons of Common Borg Tech... Honestly... Why even bother putting that in the game to begin with? What RA toon is going to really use this stuff? By the time you have collected a whole MK X set you could have easily gotten the Aegis, the Assimilated Borg Set, or gotten to VA where you want at the very least the MK XI set already... It is pointless having a MK X set.

It is also a bit pointless throwing all these purples are me... Not a single purple ship weapon has been one I would use. Why would I want them? The ones I get from requisitions are always better and the vast majority of these are Plasma... Yeeeah... Ok well the Borg use plasma so it makes sense they would drop those but Plasma is the worst Energy type in the game without question. They do not even sell on the exchange, that is how bad they are.

Long Story Short: I, and I would wager MOST STF players, do not run STF's to get MK X gear or random Purple Plasma weapons and other little ship pieces. We run for the Dilithium (which we can use to buy all the consoles we want) and the MK XI or XII set pieces which require Borg Tech Drops of higher quality or Chips in the prior case.

there is my answer. its not about which boxes drop, its the amount of boxes. i mean, 15 lock boxes in 3 STF? thats completely overkill.

if this FE doesnt completely knock it out of the park, i sense a rebellion on the horizon. no content in almost a year, this FE better be the greatest thing since sliced bread or else the community will backlash with all sorts of hell. we shall see soon i suppose.

The grab bag-lottery boxes are not Cryptic's idea/will. Look at other Perfect World games, they all create a substantial part of their revenue via similar lottery-like nonsense.

All Cryptic can do, is to incorporate this TRIBBLE in most Trekkish way possible, i.e., as "Cardassian Lock Boxes".

All YOU can do, is NOT buying them. However, should the lottery boxes loose their financial appeal in the future they will HAVE TO come with something else. And I can think of many worse things...

Your lucky, i just did The Cure space STF and there must have been about 30 in just that one mission. The only thing dropping was these damn boxes and pretty much every ten seconds.
