I laugh at people who paid for a life time membership TRIBBLE for this game."

Why? My LTS was paid off over 6 months ago. I have been playing for free for 6 months and, in fact, Crytpic has been paying me $5.00 a month in CPs to play for the last 3 months. Plus I bet my Android BOFF will kick the TRIBBLE out of any 3 of your BOFFs in melee combat.

I bought my LTS December 2010, and while i had only had this just over a year before F2P happened, i was still happy with my investment. I've enjoyed every moment i've spent in game, even during the content drought, which was unfortunate but a blessing in disguise with the removal of Atari. I look forward to an even brighter future than before - in 30 days or so, i get my KDF Cape!!!!! So can't wait
And i find it pretty sad someone would laugh at me or anyone else having an LTS. If you enjoy the game or feel the LTS was worth the purchase, and no amount of belittling will ever change these simple facts.

awww well done
Cryptic points are not convertable into dollars... only $ into cp. unless your selling cp to other players, which i would assume is illegal under terms and conditions (maybe wrong).
so your not technically getting paid $5.00 a month to play.... i would say its more like your getting $5.00 worth of vouchers every month?
you get 400cp a month (correct me if thats wrong), but that its not enough to get anything unless you save, or again... pull out the wallet. you should in my view be getting 600 or 700cp month. that would be better

Just who are you exactly to tell me what I can and cannot do with my money?
Do I have to tell you about all my purchasing decisions so you can be a part of those too?

People who got a LTM early on done the right thing from todays point of view. People who NOW buy a LTM however...
In Open Beta many people said STO wouldn't last 2 years and that everyone who bought LTSs around launch were fools. Yet here we are. I would imagine 2 years from now there will be people posting on this forum about how an LTS is a waste of money and those who bought one today will be giving the same answer I currently am. Cynicism is the lifeblood of gaming forums.
my lifetime is pretty much paid off so i play for free like the free players, except i get given free c-points, vet rewards and things like priority login in which has already proven handy on a couple of occasions, plus i got some free slots and a borg character with it so i was pretty happy. my only regret is i did not do is even sooner
now im not sure anyone should be going lifetime right now unless those extras really matter to them, but it depends on the player. if those extra do matter and if they plan to play the game for ages, roll a lot of alts and use a lot of bank space and perhaps money is not a massive factor then there are long term advantages to going lifetime. no one is forced to or should be laughed at. their gaming may just be different to others.
I just think of it this way
I can drop the game at any point now and keep my veteran rewards going plus my stipend can keep building up if I leave for several months. Plus the priority log in will make it so when I come back I get back in the game easier. Lately I've been playing a different game but have been keeping track of whats going on. Looking forward to Saturday with the new FE.

I wish I knew about STO earlier (I only found out it existed after it went F2P) and I would totally have bought an LTS back in the day.
I'm also still considering buying one now, believe it or not. While it is indeed different than if you bought it early on, I think they still have some pretty awesome perks for LTS folks.
Anyone who laughs at the LTSers is a hater, or simply doesn't understand what you are getting for the money.

Completely out of place.
And wrong. Just like used-car drivers say they laugh at people buying the brand new cars. There is no fixed measurement for "value". It's up to the individual to define it for himself.

2 of the 4 top selling items in the store go for 400cp and under

I read that and thought of this".
As for the LTS. It's done me proud so far. I can pick up and drop the game as I please.
Which is likely why he specified getting paid $5.00 a month IN CPs... not that they were mailing him a check every month.
I'm also happy with my lifetime sub. It actually makes for quite the cushy experience after a while.
yes
either open a box or sell it for a few million
