I'm not much of a forum writer more a reader but this is getting crazy....
Now, we had our share in people acusin' each other for p2w tactics and stuff u could buy from c-store..
but now u can use this console every where u want o_O
this not only effect pvp players but all players
were in the shoes of pay 2 play
if u want te mean anything in space or ground ull need buy consoles from c store
if u are a f2p kinda guy u wont want this stuff to be thrown in ure face cuzz u want to play free...bet settle down guys if u have a good portion of patience and u dont mind to die in every way u can or cannot this game will be great!!!......not
the galor class....yet another ship (yes also like the bugg) u cant even imagine how to blow down in space..
instead of making better fed (even yet klinks ships) they throw this in ure face
uni station slots + the new buy consoles u can fit anywhere u want
how can a decent fed player encounter these ships ?
so yet another race with pure blooded war ships lol
and so on with the romulans too warbirds and stuff cannon fitted cruiser like ships ull never to able to counter with a cruiser like feds have (cuzz they also nerved most decent eng console to sci consoles)
this is not a cry message
this is a pure form of disappointment... this game is no longer a gamers game but a buyers game..
i played several online space games and they where all pay 2 play
till i found this STO amazing graph fun game interaction with not only people but also a good story line
and now its gone...
i guess it wouldnt take for long now
soon where all buying our ammunition
pay every shot well ever fire in this game
i dont know if this is cryptic or perfect world
but this **** ure pulling up is more of a BIGPOINT trait
Ummm... I think we are suposed to wait until they offer the grab bags for something we really want. Then we are suposed to start juming up and and down while drooling with glazed over eyes and swear to open our wallets and spend whatever is needed to make that our own.
Yet you still do not have to pay a single penny. If the Dilithium Exchange was non-existant, i could maybe understand your plea, yet this option is very rare in F2P games, and i thank Cryptic so much for allowing the option to purchase anything from the store via in-game means.
If you don't wish to spend your money, don't, but if you don't wish to grind either, please don't whine...
Its very simple really - Play or pay, because both methods will get you what you want. One just may take longer than the other, but thats not rocket science now is it.
So if I have the OP's point correct, the fact that Cryptic offers things to buy that you are not required to buy to play the game makes this a pay to play game?
I have 13 or 14 alts. 7 of them are VA. Only 2 of the VAs use VA token ships (one Galaxy R and one Defiant R). The other 5 use stock T5 ships which are free to everyone. I have no difficulty running STFs - though I find STFS to be boring grind fests - and have no difficulty getting the best ground and space end-game borg gear in the game; and I get it all for free simply by playing rather then paying.
I have 150 million EC and over a million Dilithium on my alts. I can find nothing to spend either currency on. I only play on Elite setting and find that normal white gear, or whatever I get from drops and rewards, is more then sufficient to defeat the challenges on Elite. I don't need to buy anything from the C-Store to succeed in playing.
So to sum up, I have never had to pay anything to win, nor do I even know what people think they are supposed to be winning. I have taken an NX to Admiral on Elite setting. Another player has a post on the forum where he took a Peregrine Fighter to VA on Elite setting. There is nothing difficult about this game so there is no reason to pay to win - especially when you are not winning anything.
I also have to wonder what people expect from a FREE TO PLAY game. Did people expect they were going to come to STO and not spend a penny on anything and get everything that people who are spending money have? Of course the people who are willing to spend money are going to have different looking ships. That does not mean they are winning anything.
Which F2P games? This option, I'm told, is standard in PWE games, and is also rather typical in other far eastern F2P MMOs.
In the west, both of Turbine's F2P games allow players the ability to earn things in-game. I'm most familiar with LOTRO and in LOTRO there's not only the option of earning items and content in-game, but there's a well published guide on how to do it which involves trait farming on lower level alts.

Have you tried to use the dilithium exchange by any chance? It has been out of action since not long after this went live.
OP your title is incorrect by the way. Pay to pl;ay is used to describe the subscription model as without paying you can not play it. This is free to play, or pay to win depending on the actual discrepency between in game items and RMT items.

What are you talking about? I've used the Dilithium Exchange plenty since it went Live from Tribble to Holodeck. Last night there was a little downtime. Talk about a molehill mountain Decronia
