I used to look forward to updates, waiting to see patch notes and looking at what was fixed and added... but after today, I look at updates with a feeling of dread... like when the in-laws visit...

Yeah, myself and a lot of my fleetmates dread patches and bet on what they "break" next...

Whatever happened to the concept of "Exhaustive Beta-Testing"? These days, video games just do a couple of weeks of half-hearted beta testing and then expect people to accept a flawed concept as the final product.

Back when I used to write video games in Basic, I wouldn't have considered a beta test shorter than 6 months.

Hopefully this new Patch is going to take care of the issue with Private messages saying You can not send a private message on a newly created account. I was able to send them perfectly fine up until the patch the did yesterday morning

I think you are being far to kind with the wording of your message. The drinking game jokes on TTS chat are only good for so long...

I'll be totally honest: If they choose to remove the messages, color me surprised. Because I don't see it happening.

Hm, people, it seems quite obvious that the Cryptic team is working very hard, with two patches coming so fast after one another. Maybe they make mistakes, but you and I make mistakes from time to time, too - it is not just as visible to a large and concerned community. So calm down.

No thank you, I got blasted enough with all the Tribble related puns at launch.

At least move the "so and so@so and so unlocked a Galor" flyouts to the item get box. A simple change of text color could help allay any confusion.

I understand that the Cryptic Devs are working hard, but that is seriously irritating. Particularly if you like recording footage from STO, or taking screenshots for any reason.

I'd be happy if they would fix the Junior/Captain Officer Cadre packs for the DOFF system. I'd like to be able to open the dozen or so I have in my 8 characters inventory. Sure would be nice. Oh and yeah, take out the ungodly annoying messages. I don't give a rat's kazzoo if some bozo spent his parents money to buy a key to open some idiot box. This is something you'd expect Hello Kitty to do, not STO. :( It's amazing what lengths a company will go to in the name of greed. How sad.

I would not be surprised if they change the drop rate of the ship as a means to quell the system messages that are so over powering...
Glad they fixed SB 157, can finally finish it on nub KDF.
And the Auto fire, that was simply irritating....

I agree with what was said about beta testing, no patch, fix, update etc should ever see the live server untill it has been on test server at least a full month, and to ensure they do work when made live test server should be an up to date version of live server, that in itself would solve ALOT of issues.

Lets hope that they are only fixing something that didnt get fixed or that is not meshing right and not messin with drop rates, consoles, weapons etc..
I for one would be highly 'upset' if the rest of us who have not got the Galor get hosed because they messed up the drop..

For your DOff system query, do you have enough space in your crew roster to add them, I think at the start you can only have 100 Duty Officers, with more spaces added from a C-Store item. If your crew roster is full you won't be able to add any new Duty Officers from packs

you guys keep complaining about these guys patches, you've obviously never played a nexon game, specifically maplestory.

They break a lot of somethings every patch, completely ignore support tickets, and make the game boring and hard unless you invest hundreds of dollars in the game, not to mention the thousands of cheaters and hackers that go unpunished and ruin the game like you wouldn't believe.

Lemme tell you, star trek online is a great game, and the occasional galor messages are NOTHING compared the the frequent banners across the screen in maplestory declaring this or that, or from the "cash shop" purchaseable "megaphones" that allow players to shout something to everyone in the game, and talk to each other for the world to hear.

I say thank you cryptic for bothering to fix the TRIBBLE that goes buggy, letting me hit the level cap without spending a dime, and ruining my sleeping habits with this engaging game.

    Yes, please calm down.
They do there best to fix everything as fast as they can.
    Please consider this:

Where people work, mistakes are made

it seems like this game is always down for maintenance whenever i have time to sit down and play.:( at least WoW's scheduled down time is only once a week.

Please add notifications racing across our screen every time someone opens a box and gets TRIBBLE. If you think you can keep up that is. Short of that I'd like to see notifications when ever someone picks up a data sample. That sounds like fun.

Wow isn't going through a major conversion and growing pains though. People need to remember the huge influx of new players because of the F2P conversion and everything else. There's going to be downtime and maintenance for awhile because of that. It's no one's fault.

Its something they should have expected and anticipated and planned for and made the adjustments to 'deal' with it on a scale 3x what was expected, when you make such a large change to a game its a must.
