...for hitting a new low. As if the content drought wasn't bad enough, the bugs that have been in the game since beta or nearly as long, the fiasco with the 500 day veteran emblem removal and the farce of a replacement, the gift boxes ill-conceived, the new version of gift boxes which is just as ill-conceived as the previous one (just with an illusion of a difference), the consoles having their ship type restriction removed for tier 4 and below idiocy, the horrible reward system for STF, among a lot of other issues too numerous to list here...

You are telling me to do content such as the Duty Officer system I have to buy keys from the C-Store to open these new cardie boxes just to get the commodities?! This is straight up a sign of bad business ethics of some of the worst kind. There is such a thing as making a profit. I have no problem with that, I have a problem having to pay extra just to do in game content.

No there is no TRUE in game way to acquire any of it. You have tap danced that same old line and I never bought it from day one but this is truly the last straw. I should not have to pay whatever some player wants to sell keys (to unlock boxes) or the commodities (from those cardie boxes) just to do normal content (the Duty Officer system in this case).

Please note the number Duty Officer missions I cannot do, due to lack of commodities...

Seriously? It's not just one or two missions, it the majority of those available to me.

I can understand, Cryptic needs money to keep the game going, well a lot of us have paid our dues, we even stuck it out through a year of little to no content introduced by the game developers. You have a Captain's table that does nothing other than gather dust because of a lack of use in the game. Give those who've helped this game something back. Let these commodities be purchased here for a REASONABLE fee. Not 100k Energy Credits each, not 45k Refined Dilithium (not any amount of Dilithium period really), but for a REASONABLE fee. The other commodities range from 75 EC each to a few thousand EC each depending on where you buy it, let that be your moderation tool.

You are the game developers, start acting like it by giving us real content and stop relying on the player base to "fill in the gaps". We love the Foundry and those who work hard to make great missions. But that does not mean you can relax your job and stop releasing storyline content. I love some of the cool things that have been put in the C-Store (especially the look of the Sao Paulo class). But do not rely on the players to distribute the "master keys", "commodities", or "whatever the future may hold" from the C-Store in game for you so you can claim that it's available to obtain without real world money.

I just don't know if I have much hope left for this game which really makes me sad. :(

Ohhh, I thought this was going to be a HAPPY thread...

How bout' you buy some more commodities with your replicator or go visit another sector of space. If you want to do 20 missions in the SOL system then they should not let you.

You may want to look at this thread.

    http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=253183

The commodities are available in game, you'll just have to run DOff assignments to get them from the Cardassian sectors.

There are also repeatable six hour "Haggle for..." trading assignments in the sector blocks near DS9 that will grant 1-3 resources of the specified type depending upon whether the outcome is Unprofitable, Profitable or Extremely Profitable from an input of 2000 EC. Basically, a specialized variant of the existing "Trade for..." assignments.

The Haggle assignments are Uncommon and can appear in any of the three Cardassian sector blocks, as well as any of the three attached star cluster sectors.

The new commodities are fairly common in the lockboxes and tradable, so I expect to see a lot of them on the Exchange, since their current use outside of duty officer assignments is minimal.

The assignments that utilize the new commodities are on average about five times as profitable in terms of base numeric rewards - so, other than Dilithium - than a standard Uncommon assignment of a similar duration.

The parts to note are in bold and underlined. For the number of DOff missions I have that require the "special commodities" this makes it very limiting on completed said tasks. Take into account the sheer number of DOff missions that are requiring these "special commodities" and the fact that each one takes anywhere from 9 to 20+ to complete, 1-3 earned after a six hour mission which is itself uncommon is ludicrous.

EDIT: Also love the plug made "If you don't want to take forever to do this overly limiting way of getting commodities you can just open a box!" If there weren't so many DOff missions I wouldn't mind. I love the turret platform missions and have no problem with them. But for how many of my DOff missions I need this stuff for...it's over the top.

Some days after I started doing DOFF assignments I realized that I only had to make a "trip around the universe" to use up my 20 assignment slots at warp speed. Right now my slots are full and I still could do another 10 - and these are just the ones with 100% success.

I am not too hot about the "new economy" displayed here but seriously, there's still plenty to do for DOFFs without those.

Ugh, the rewards for those missions are ridiculous though.
I expected at least a better dilithium bonus, like 10 times of what´s there in the 2nd pic. :(

I don't feel too good. I don't feel good at all. I got that sick to the stomach feeling... STO CREW WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?

I CANNOT believe it. They're gonna ruin another game. PW is trying to shape STO in their own image and its making me sick. I was sick of PW 3 months after I started playing and now the same is gonna happen with STO, mainly because I will have to jump AROUND THE ENTIRE GALAXY to gather USELESS NONESENCE (presuming they've even made it a "farm drop") with no aditional reward for it.

What's the point of staying gold anymore if I have to rummage half the time i have available to me while playing the game. Congratulations from me as well!

I don't give a wooded nickle for the galor! Its all show and no go.

What really bothers me is that the differences between gold and siler accounts are shrinking so hardily that for those who still pay monthly for the game - all they get is a cryptic-logo branded promo cap and a cheesy smile while they take away their money which wasn't worth much of a difference even when f2p began, but I stuck to it because I believed that cryptic deserved that 15€/month... now i don't anymore!

Betrayed! That's what I am... scammed into believing that the gold account will get me somewhere...

ooooh you will get +20 inventory slots... oooooh you will get +20 bank slots.... oooooh you will get the joined trill which sucks..... ooooh you will get free retraining tokens every rank, but not every month, once you get VA you can allways buy it if you feel we are not ripping you off enough...

As soon as possible im gonna put together 2 monthly payments, buy crypic points, change to silver account and c-point my way back into the "fuzzy" priviliges i've been getting as a gold member. Long term money saved? 120€ to the rest of the year, presuming I will even play that long.

Yes it's true, Cryptic/PW is turning STO into a cash shop wh@re. But let's also realize where the majority of that blame is centered. If you buy their lotto boxes you're MORE responsible than Cryptic/PW for the direction of this game.

We've lost, we've cried on the forums that this is wrong and we're not going to financially participate in these lotto boxes, and they were still a huge success. There are enough people out there perfectly willing to throw hundreds of their dollars at Cryptic/PW for a slim chance at getting a ship. We've lost.

The best we can hope for now is to be allowed to participate in "most" of the content without a surcharge. When that hope is finally gone, so am I.

Thank you SO much for wording up how i've felt recently!

I'll always be the first person to clap my hands and say "Well Done Cryptic, you've done something well!" Sure, not everyone liked the the Oddy or the Bortas, and i'm not a huge fan of them either. But they were free, you cobbled together alittle mission for us to do, and you gave it to us for free. You then gave us another mission to get the popper. And i liked that too. It was good to give us some stuff.

But as me' learned friend has stated, you shasfted us out of our 250 emblem reward and relaced it with a VA ship token. Don'ty you think by that point in the game we'd ALREADY have them?? It's useless.

Di Angelo himself said in an interview that the holiday box TRIBBLE braught in PLENTY of money to help hire more Cryptic crew. So why are you now doing it again?! I'm still glad i have a LTS,. and you should be glad I have it too, because there's no WAY in hell i'd dare pay you greedy people monthly anymore. Why should we PAY you for your game, after a year of little to NO content, when as soon as it starts coming in again, we have to pay though the nose for it?? I'm not bying your keys to open boxes for things i mostly have already. I'm not that stupid. Then again I also have a life, so I don't have time to farm dilithium for a week to avoid opening my wallet again.

Lets not even go in about the HUGE cockup idea of making most universal consoles fully universal so more people will by more ships has pretty much killed PVP. A game aspect that has not had any bugs that i know of, probably because you haven't tried to improve it and thus broken it...

So lets round this latest rant off - i've paid plenty of good money as have many other players to keep playing during your content draught, and as soon as it looks brighter, you intend to release content to only those who are prepared to pay MORE for arguably the best things in the game? LMAO.

We understand that you need to make money, we understand that you need to look like you were more then worth PWE buying you by generating money. But don't bleed your longest standing ppl dry

I'm not a silver member, so I don't expected to be treated like one. Consider revising your matrix.

... and they better do it soon because im already plotting and scheeming how im gonna go silver and c-point most of the gold features back!:o

Consider the difference: about 30€ to restore bank, inventory and characer slots and then "nada" for the rest of STO's (recently become) miserable life!
