b) May I ask how this is known? I find it a little concerning that you might be broadcasting who won them when we're not allowed to mention players names ourselves.
Nitpicking perhaps, but I'm wondering if I missed something.

I saw one of the names (Panthro if I remember correct) broadcasted ingame some 15 minutes ago
Here is your chance: buy my boxes from the exchange, get your keys from the C-store that never closes, and increase your chances of winning. If you get lucky, STO Devs will recognized you in a post to your fellow players.
Don't miss your chance, you can't win if you don't play!! Be a hero....

This is the real question. Of course, they will never tell us. I'd just like to encourage everyone to keep in mind the numbers from the last grab bag before spending any money:

Chances are strong that there would be a few "freak" occurrences of people receiving ships in the first few boxes. This could literally be out of ~100 boxes.
What will really play out is that as more and more boxes are opened, the results will become more average. They will likely stabilize at an average of 200 boxes per ship or $250 per ship. It's certain that some people will spend less, but it is also certain that some people will spend more.
Apparently there is plenty of time to make 2 ship models and 2 new ship layouts (stats, BOs, etc.). Just because odd ships can be released via grab bags (per CBS) does not mean that they should be. Why not put them out into the C-Store and give everyone a fair chance at them?
Ships are NOT an item. They are not gear. They are not vanity costume pieces. Ships are en entire character in space. They control your hitpoints, movement abilities, what equipment you can use and what powers you have. Consider if any other game put the entire Paladin class in a lottery box. A sword might be one thing, since you could still play a Paladin, but without a minor numerical advantage. Locking away a ship locks away an entire character build/class.
It is against my Faith to gamble, so if you could just offer the thing up in the C-Store so that I can buy it and then fly it, that would be great! You can check my account Cryptic; Ive already bought my fair share of ships! So, you want my money; offer me something that doesnt require the sinful act of gambling real money to get it.
Also, Im really actually a disappointed that you would release a playable Cardassian Ships BEFORE the Andorian Ship we were promised was in the making!
I second the 'how do I turn off this spam' question. I for one don't care who got them. And I'd much rather see the devs spend time working on the game rather than monitoring and announcing who purchased the keys from the cstore and got lucky in the lottery.
I haven't gotten in game yet today to see these obnoxious messages about people unlocking Galors, but I'm already not liking what I'm hearing about them. System Messages should be used for communicating actual important messages. Hearing that someone else has the mystical thing called "luck" and has gotten something other than TRIBBLE from a grab bag/box/whatever is not an important message, especially to those of us who don't have luck.
You guys obviously never played Everquest or Everquest 2.
When top guilds went raiding you got SPAMMED with every piece of epic loot one got. I remember broadcasts that went like "The world stops for a moment as Uberwarrior claims his Sword of Uber"

I seem to remember Guild Wars doing something similar for their PvP.

They have stated many, many times that they are not allowed to by CBS. The only way CBS would approve releasing non-IP-appropriate ships like the Galor or Bug ship was to make it uber-ultra-rare somehow. CBS was OK with the grab-bag approach.

**Edit**
Maybe not. I thought the "gad" might have been a play on Galor. Now it's just looking like a typo.

Probably out of 1 million lol I will never get the ship with my dumb luck.

Like any other new gambling situation, the house is always loose with the slots at the beginning.
I turned off "system" in every chat window. Hoping that does it.
Seconded (and kept handy in my sig)

Could you tell us what box was used Common ,Very rare ,etc...
Well, thanks!
Edit: For those who wish to know, it was my 20th box I believe. Just common boxes brought with dilithium
Announcements for "Servers coming down for maintenance" Make sense. Joe@Schmoe unlocked a new ship doesn't.
Congrats on the ship. It looks quite nice.
FYI, the chances of getting the ship in 20 boxes are about 9.5% if they use the same distribution from the Jem'Hadar ship box.
