That thing is blatantly OP, i love it....
On a sidenote, if the Cardassians had had Galor-classes these OP in the war, they would have never needed to ally with the Dominion!
I kind of wish it was a Jem'hadar Dreadnought, to round out the ships we have that turn like starbases :P
If you really wanted to give out a real weapon to fight and defeat the Jem'Hadar I'd have gone for the ATR-4107. Might I also suggest you change the name to Galor-class Type-3 Cruiser. Those were considered "top of the line" by Commander Riker in the episode "Ensign Ro"."
Not bad, though I really hope the weapons use phaser effects like they did on the show. I will stick with my Odyssey, but best of luck to those who want the Galor.
Excellent, its got lower HP than a cruiser of equivalent rank. I look forward to blowing up a bunch of these to vent my frustration at people that have this strange mystical thing called "luck." Are we going to be getting spiral-wave disruptors from the new featured episodes, or are they limited to the people who aren't hated by the random number generator?
So better turn rate, more tactical consoles, shields right up there with the Federation flagship. It's better in the ways that matter for the game, unlike the Oddyssey whose concept fits the shows but not the game. And it will cost hundreds of dollars to own! I'd like to throw up now.

They call it a cruiser but it's really just a science/escort hybrid with worse turnrate than either and a blue quality scaling weapon with an interesting proc.
it does seem powerful yet somewhat squishy as well. perhaps the shield strength needs looking at. galor class ships were not exactly known for amazing shields.
spiral disruptors eh? sounds like something I'd rather have em on my vor'cha... I am now interested in acquiring the galor if only to remove its toys and put them on something else.
Not sure why some people just cannot be happy. Great extra here Cryptic! Thanks for the hard work! I'm holding my C-Points for a romulan ship and then I can retire...till the Romulan Faction comes out.
It's sad that new ships in this game are not gated by effort, but by chance.
Why can't you put it as a regular purchase on the c-store? Then I'd probably spend money on it. This way you just increase the hate against you.
Oh, and also: Any chance that you'll publish the drop rates for it?
they have said CBS will not allow these ships to be in the game for everybody. the only way they will allow these odd ships (ie not fed/klingon) is by being ultra rare.
its simply this or nothing. there is no way these will appear as straight up buys in the store.
I'm against, buying anything more in the C-Store, for as long as this game remains in existence. Already given Cryptic plenty of my cash.
Would rather see the new ships either available for ingame currencies, or via C-Store. Not as a "chance to win" type drop box / grab bag. Even if you buy the boxes on C-Store, it still is just a CHANCE that you get the ship.
2000 C-Points for the ship, outright on the C-Store, or as a "chance" in the drop boxes.
I'd be totally fine with rare c-store gated drops if it was just vanity stuff like jem'hadar or galor costumes. But gating off actual (good) ships like that?
I say it should be in the C-store like the Galaxy X for 25$ make the OP worth the cash.
CBS will not approve any ships that they want to be extremely rare to be able to be just "bought" by anyone, for any price. They don't want hundreds of Fed (or KDF) players flying around with ships that don't make sense for them to be flying. The only way they can be approved to be in the game as a player ship *AT ALL* is to put it into a chance box that guarantees that there won't be a lot of them in the game.
They call it a cruiser but it's really just a science/escort hybrid with worse turnrate than either and a blue quality scaling weapon with an interesting proc.
It's got one ensign sci slot with a lt. universal, and only 2 science consoles. How is this a sci/escort hybrid? It's got commander eng and 4 engineering consoles....it's a pure cruiser...just better at being a cruiser in the ways that matter in the game.
I challenge Cryptic to have the integrity to publish the percentages on these lock box items. They don't want to find out how many people would still buy these KNOWING what their odds are.
personally id very much prefer people have a choice.
so why in your opinion is having no option at all better than having a choice?
if you dont want to buy the box then you are in no worse a position than if they never did it at all. you have no galor now, and you will have no galor going forward. your situation does not change, but at least this way people who are happy to try and buy them get the chance.
does that not leave a situation where nothing changes for you but allows others to try their luck if they so choose? again keeping in mind that it really is the only way they can keep it rare and make money in a f2p game.
its like an excelcior only better, at least it isn't head and shoulders better then other escorts like the bugship is. what an awsome turn rate it has too, and that shield modifier is lovely. i wish all the current ships had more divers stats like this, a bit less hull here, higher shields modifier there, different but equal
*edit- oh wait that's a science ensign and a universal lt... that's not ok. a cruiser that turns that well and has 5 tactical stations and 8 engineering stations would be unstoppable. unlike the odyssey that gave you the opportunity to have 5 tactical stations, you get left with only 4 engineering stations. that's not a viable build for something so big and slow. you guys got to make the ensign universal, like i thought i saw originally, or its just not balanced at all.
I'm quite surprised you went with the Galor-class as a T5 ship; as the Keldon-class was similar in deign yet more powerful so I would have assumed the Galor would be T4 along the lines of the Tactical Escorts, Exploration Cruisers, Long Range Sci Vessels, Pach Raptors, Ki'Tang BoP and Vor'Cha Battle Cruisers.
Assuming all along that the Keldon would be T5; what does this all mean for the potential future Cardassian faction? That question I would hope should have been asked internally during design discussion...
Thinking about the new weaponry that comes with this Galor I'm now guessing that we may see Phased polaron beams as rewards during the new FE series; which would be pretty cool.
because it dont go with the ip. its the only way to get it into player hands. also makes them some nice cash
Another way to get them into the players hands would be to create a schedule that enables Cryptic to release new factions, or have those factions join either the Federation or the Klingon Empire.

That's a poor excuse, if I ever heard one...
The game purposely takes place some 30 years post-Nemesis. Cryptic has used this excuse, to justify things like everyone using whatever uniform style they personally prefer, to justify using outdated ship designs (NX replica, D'kyr replica etc). Why in god's name, can't they use the SAME excuse to justify people flying ships that would otherwise not have been used 30 YEARS AGO?!?!
Maybe the Cardassians joined the Federation? Or maybe the union split in two, with one half joining the Federation, the other joining the Klingon Empire? The more peaceful Cardassians would opt to join the Federation, while the more militaristic Cardassians would opt to join the Klingons.
TL;DR: Just because Feds/Klingons wouldn't be flying Cardassian ships in 2378, doesn't mean they wouldn't in 2409.
What really offends me is how Cryptic keep wasting rescources on things less than 1% of the entire games population will ever enjoy.
In fact I would be perfectly fine with these ships if they had identical stats to some existing ships, and did not give anyone who had one an unfair advantage.
An advantage that 99% of everyone playing the game, can never hope to get.

This whole concept of super rare unobtainable powerful ships just sickens me.
