Since ftp has arrived i wish the devs would implement some kind of system where you cant do elite STF`s when under geared for them.

It is really frustrating to when idiots do them in green and blue equipment and then see the whole team fail and get an 1 hour debuff.

I dont normally rant about things like this but i have had 4 runs today like this and with the extra chips on kitomer accord elite today its annoying and losing out to these idiots.

Ok rant mode off back to chillin out :o

They're not going to do anything about this, nor should they. Maybe they should add a disclaimer to the public queues stating "do at your own risk, you may get stuck with an bad PUG", but most people should be smart enough to figure that out on their own I think. There is a reason that there are channels dedicated to putting groups together for elite STF runs. Go there, go to your fleet chat and friends list, and find a group of people willing to listen to directions and stick to a plan.

Don't think that gear quality is a good measure of success. I know that I could do any elite STF with mk 10 blue equipment and pull my own weight so as to make an effective contribution to the team. Furthermore, how do you know what equipment they're using? They could be bad players with awesome gear that they bought off the dilithium store.

Lastly, take a look through the link in my signature and share it with your team members before doing the mission, its got some good strategic tips and should be helpful in getting the missions accomplished quickly.

I support the OP and feel that the STFs will be a lot easier if they implemented his idea and put up a disclaimer before entering said STFs, " Warning A hole ahead Warning "

Know who you do STF's with or join a fleet and do them with your fleet. It’s like anything, people doing Elite for the first time should be able to do it if they want.

I am sure that Cryptic doesn’t want to get into babysitting and if you don’t want to do a STF with someone you don’t know, then don’t do them with someone you don’t know. Simple!

otherwise a fail safe would be in place to make newbs do normal for a time to get right purple stuff and a STF set before doing elite

Gozer please enlighten me on why you are doing nothing to fixe set issue you aare the guru o Czar of the STF's correct is something going to be done about the rude disrespectful behavior and the kick team issue

Be glad gear problems are all you have faced OP... I get many people leaving us one member short. I also got strapped with a LOVELY team of 3 Odysseys and 1 Bortas... In other words... 4 useless team mates... I knew the optional was forsaken immediately and sure enough the entire mission took almost an hour to complete...

Those two ships, as they are right now, are absolute garbage, especially in STFs... It hurts more that most who fly them have NO idea how to set them up or fly them to begin with.

Just when I thought that I'd ditched the GearScore morons from World of Warcraft…

But I agree on several points. Joining the public queue, you are effectively signing an "At your own risk" agreement for that mission. Get with a fleet, join one of the channels devoted to the cause (Or if you think you have what it takes, apply to the STFRaiders [http://www.stfraiders.com/forum/]), or just quit crying and take the public queues for what they are, a random chance at success or fail. You can try and place blame on gear, on what somebody captains (All you anti-cruiser nutcases), or on the player themself.

Thing is, yes, not a perfect system by any means, but the fact you apparently aren't proactively seeking a way to quit utilizing the public queue for elite STFs and expecting every match to be if you were running with a pre-made team, you're the only one to blame.

they already weakened them... and to be honest gear really doesnt have much to do with the game.

its player skill that wins through on stf's.

Know all too well how that feels. I get frustrated with STO on a nearly daily basis, watching fellow STFRaiders pull prototype tech (and usually the same folks) almost daily, and all I'm ever getting is the junk loot, not even getting en masse prototype salvage anymore. As for all is good in the world… can I have some of what you're smoking?

Destraa, the drop rates are up enough to make them worth running I think. 2/3 Tech pieces here after not getting anything before the patched drop rates. You do have a point about it beeing the same folks though Destraa, I think that Meynolt is using black magic to get his sets.

Hey there, I've got some friends flying those ships and they pull their weight in the elite space runs same as everyone else, and we still get the optional objectives every time. :p

Then consider them raaaaaaaaaare friends. I have yet to see a single person flying one of those flying bricks manage to hold their own in an STF.

Their +1 Versions may be good but their current versions are... Just a model. They are good for looking at and that is about it.

I use to coach little league baseball so I know how to teach people how to play. So to teach you how to be a good team member ... listen up ... Regin heal sticks are the single most problem any player will have in an elite stf. They get injuries that limits their effectiveness to the point of zero dmg and they die real fast and quit. Anwer ---> bring lots of regin heals with you and give them out when people receive injuries. They will respect you and follow your lead. message them make them feel your care for their game play. I have done this to sucess.
