    A galor class starship? Seriously?

Hold on... I can't even open one of these without a master key? Which I have to buy on the c-store?

Crossfire Tribble? No, don't include it, nor should it include those double consumables, add them to the crafting system. And take out the Sehlat cub, we don't need another fiasco like the holiday box where people get dozens of copies of something they already own. These boxes should give items unique only to boxes that give items, that way you don't give away something someone else worked hard to earn (Crossfire tribble) and you don't end up with people with many copies of items they already paid full price for (me and my multiple exocomps)

I wonder if Cryptic has learned from the Winter Wonderland Mystery Box mistakes. I guess we'll soon see.

Any word on how many C-points per box?

    Oooh galor, do want.

could we get some master keys dropping as loot as well, just to give people a chance at getting it for free?

either way there goes another bunch of my c-points.

dilithium exchange is about to rocket back up to 500 for anyone who is playing the market.

LoLWUT! You're telling me I have to pay you cryptic points to open a flipping loot drop?! At a worst this should be a free service to Gold Members. Just when I think you can't make me lament my dropping 340 bucks at launch for the Collector's + Lifetime Subscription more, you find a way. For that you get a bravo. *clap* *clap* *clap*

"To open one of the Lock Boxes, a character will also need an item called a Master Key. Master Keys can be purchased in the C-Store"

So this time you don't even bother to give people the illusion of getting something without paying cash like in the winter "event"?

Here we go again. At least the Galor doesn't look as good as the Jem'Hadar ship so there should be less demand for it unless it has comparable stats.

So...do you have to buy a master key for each box?
Or does one purchased key open all boxes you may find?

If it's one key forever, this will be no biggie for those that get the monthly stipend...
For those that don't, well...expect much complaining...
If it's a key per box...omg, this thread's gonna get nuked.

*edit* NM, reread the article, selling keys in packs answers my question...
    cheap...

This sounded like a great idea until I read this:

"To open one of the Lock Boxes, a character will also need an item called a Master Key. Master Keys can be purchased in the C-Store for 100 CP, or in a 10-pack for 900 CP. If you attempt to open a Lock Box without a Master Key, you will get a message explaining that you need one. If you have more than one Master Key, then only one key will be consumed each time you open a Lock Box."

However, if these lock boxes are staying in the game...forever, then this is actually not bad. And it gives me a C-Point sink. But considering that a GALOR class is a reward, something tells me these won't be in the game forever, and it's just the grab bag nonsense all over again, just done a bit differently.

I don't believe you buy the boxes from the C-Store ... only in game.

However, you have to buy those master keys for each time you want to open one.

I've been busting my *** trying to save EC to buy those red gift boxes off of the exchange, in the slim hope that i'd get a jem bug. I'm not one of those people with dozens of millions of EC, so it's been more than a little difficult, especially when i have 6 characters in the game.

And now the Galor is going to be up?

I'm this close to just giving up on this kind of thing altogether. I'll just go back to grinding dilithium so i can guy the Fed ships off of the c-store I think.

and it will be one per box... so if you get 100 boxes, 10,000 CP from you.

Since they are selling multi-packs of keys I assume it's one key per box.

its pretty clear. the key is one per box. if you have ten boxes you need 10 keys.

its not massively different to the one before, only this time you have to find the box by playing the game first.

...The Lock Boxes themselves can also be traded or auctioned if you don’t want to open them...

Thank goodness we at least have the option to sell them! I appreciate that anyway.

I get you want to make money, but I don't think in order to open these boxes you should have to have a master key. These should be free at least for gold members. A lot of us are not going to play these type of games after the whole winter wonderland.

Are you kidding me? are you seriously kidding me?

Did you people learn absolutely nothing from the gift box backlash?
This is beyond low, letting people get items in-game which are IMPOSSIBLE to take advantage of unles you spring for C-Points.

Back in December I bought 5-7 red gift boxes with C-Points.
But I can assure you, I wil not spend ONE SINGLE C-POINT on this scam!!!

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.

It's all they've got! They've shown for 2 years they are incapable of making actual content and gameplay deserving of our $$$ so they will just shoot for the lowest common denominator and hope to scrape some big bucks from the P2W crowd. I really hope CBS has some good legalese up their sleeves so they can yank this licence and let someone decent have a go at it.

they probably learned that a very small number of people on the forums either liking or hating it did not offset the huge amount of money they made from it.

these boxes are not going away. they have made PW a huge amount of money and they have been used in champions for some time. they will be here to stay as well, because no matter what people do or say on the forums, people will buy them.
