It's come to my attention that there is a novel based on the STO universe that came out a couple of years ago called "The Needs of the Many". Has anyone here read it? Is it worth getting?

I've read the book for almost three quarters now. You get some decent background informations about the timeline. But it's written quite boring. Most of the book Jake Sisko is interviewing different people (Janeway, Worf, Seven of Nine, Quark and more) to get their view of the Undine War. In my humble opinion the book has the same problem as the game:

So much potential so few used.

It's an easy read... There are a few really good bits "Doctor Jack" and one of the DTI Agents that was in Trials and Tribbleations

I like it. Especially if you've completed the game's storyline, it's very insightful on some of the unsolved mysteries (except the *BEEP*ing Iconians) :D

save the 2 dollars it costs in the bargain bin. It's not worth it.

yeah, it is worth reading. thing is, it's set years after STO and in an interview format, which makes for a rather interesting read
