Bajorans on DS9?

Hello all! Thanks for the honest and better fun <never mind the few complainers who can't figure things out) :)

I am understandably curious? DS9 is a Bajoran Space Station? In the Bajoran system as we veterans of Trek know, so, why do we not see more 'Bajoran's' walking about on the station?

The only place I see Bajorans is in their Temple? Would like to see Bajoran Security and civilians a LOT more about? My apologies if I am not seeing the nose wrinkle?

Speaking of Bajoran - Uniforms? The Bajoran com badge is on the RIGHT CHEST, where Starfleet has their com badge on the LEFT. My meaning is, when one goes to beam up and wearing a Bajoran uniform ( as I do ) my character 'misses' the touch?

Ah well, someday?

Not really related, but as was once mentioned by Kirk: 'Before you can out-guess an enemy in three dimensions, you've got to be able to maneuver in two.' - from the paperback Battlestations!, by Diane Carey. I guess I just wanna touch the location of the Bajoran com badge - the maneuver - if someone can program for the left chest, they can program for the right!

Thanks again for the real fun and the chances to think our way thru the Stars. Wish we old vets of the game could once again do the previous STF's as Fleet Elite's - as this fast STF stuff is fast becoming not so satisfying? There must be room for them as well, as there are stars?

'..there's the Borg again!' :D

In STO the bajorians joined the federation so DS9 is now a starfleet starbase and the bajorian militia is now integrated into starfleet's command structure. so that's why there aren't a ton of Bajorians on DS9.

Still, I'm sure there are quite a few Bajoran homebodies who given the choice, elect to be stationed on DS9. Also, the local Militia by and large may have been intigrated, but may still function similar to the National Guard concept in the US. Guradsmen are still part of the military and fall under the same command structure (mostly), but they have to be released by the respective state's governer in order to deploy out into a battlefield.
