STF Event: Khitomer Accord – February 8th – 2 Timeslots (GMT and PST/EST)

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Hi Captains!

I am organizing an in-game (Holodeck) STF event for this coming Wednesday. It also corresponds to the in-game event that is on the in-game calendar -- successful completion of Khitomer Accord during this time will earn you more Encrypted Data Chips and Dilithium.

The first timeslot will be at 8pm GMT/ noon PST/ 3pm EST.

The second timeslot will be at 5pm PST/ 8pm EST/ 1am GMT.

Let's plan to meet on Deep Space Nine, on the second floor of the Promenade. From there, we'll queue up for private games. Feel free to come in whichever ship/ class you would like, on either faction (minimum level requirement is 50). We will do a ground run, and then a space run if time permits (I think it will). Please join the REDALERT channel to see any communication/ instructions from myself.

Due to the STFs having some strategic elements to it, I suggest taking a look at some of these resources (we will be running on Normal and Elite):

http://www.stowiki.org/Mission:_Khitomer_Accord/Walkthrough
http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=246186
Elite version guide: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=250898

Also, I am looking for players who feel that they could lead a group of 4 other players through the mission. If you are willing and able, please make a post below letting me know you would like to lead a group (including normal or elite) and what timeslot you are available for.

If you can't make it Wednesday, I would like to try and do these often, and on different days/ times. Feel free to post constructive feedback in here with ideas, including if you would like to see this expanded to other types of events (PvP, Fleet Actions etc.).

Hope to see many of you Wednesday!

Cheers,

Brandon =/\=

whats worse is when you try to lead cuz no one else is, and no one listens...and you fail...and then right before they quit on you they blame you for failing as a leader in the team....i was like /facepalm...

but i can lead KA elite/normal space/ground easily. i should be up for both time slots unless i get called into work :D

I could lead these but from looking at pros and cons of it I'm not really motivated to do so. On another note though anyone who tries to breed I am better than you or you cannot do this without me is the types of attitudes I come across daily in this game that make me not want to get involved. It's no doubt though people who have ran with me that I am pretty decent at running/leading these. Give me a valid reason to help and I might be willing.

Yeah, motivation is a good point. Knowing my luck, a first timer will get Proto Armor Tech, and I'll get another junk blue item.

I've gotten 2 prototype salvages and one Mk XII armor on my engineer after literally thousands of runs. The STF system in its current format is just a disaster putting players who normally would have no problem with each other in a heated arguement which usually ends up with someone getting ignored or some kind of punishment. Either it be language barriers, refusing to listen, just new to the game, or just not wanting to be a team player all of these things end up making most stf's end in disaster unless none of the mentioned elements exist and is why I'm not very motivated in leading or sometimes even running them anymore its gotten to be where its no fun to do them.

On side note though for new players I know they see the costumes and are like ok I'm just going to skip normal mode in their shoes I'd probally be saying the same thing but reality is that just breaks the machine and we can't have that. I did mention about tutorials players had to do to progress but I doubt I'll ever see that happens... Luck of the draw seems to be the new F2P theme.

Whoever does lead these I feel very very bad for them because its going to be like daddy daycare.

I agree with you alot. Ive lost alot of friends over STFs aswell. Over me saying Omega Set isnt good in STFs to me doing it one way and someone wanting to do it another. People dont adapt to the teams style, thus bad runs insue. I have no problem leading an elite STF if ppl can listen/do what they are told. The One thing i hate is the Im better then you attitude in most STFs. Honestly i run the Combat Log Parser 24/7 during STFs. 80% of ppl who had the im better then u attitude were pulling 3-4 th place DPS. Some of them actualy have the skill to back up the attitude tho. I cant say the 1 guy with 130 ground DPS isnt imporntant. Hes prolly the majority of our DPS (i have 89 Average, which is very high for ground)

On another note, people should get along stop making stupid comments and just work with it, theres the leader, who will tell you what to do. i dont care if u think 1 way is better, do what the leader says and u prolly wont fail (some exceptions, dont jump off a cliff if ur leader says so) Buy really dont argue over the drops, or the stratagy. Play for fun. You play video games to have fun, not to get yelled at or get into an arguement.

I'm in for the 8pm GMT slot, and happy to lead so long as I can take someone who knows how to do the room. Shouldn't be a problem though. I intend to rope a friend into this, and he knows what he is doing in there.

Will the Autofire system be back online for it?

On ground, I tend to change between RPG and Shooter mode depending on the circumstances. And being in RPG versus Borg where swapping weapons is a must? Having to reenable Autofire with a bind each time I swap out weapons on Adaption is very... tedious.

You have a program that can pull data from the combat log?

You can get a 3rd party program, such as Auto Hot Key, that does magic with your keyboard itself. You can remap keys (such as saying if you press X, you're really pressing Shift + R) and more importantly, create macros, such as "If I press alt + F7, send the 1 key [standard key for primary fire] to the OS every .1s". BAM, Autofire.

Could you just confirm that the Khitomer event is happening as it appears to have dissapeared from the ingame calendar!

This is a bug some users are experiencing. The KA event (mine and the in-game calendar's) is occurring tomorrow :)

    Cheers,

You have a program that can pull data from the combat log?

I would just refer to damage numbers and the information on your weapons. Honestly no one has a program for STO that has an accurate reporting of DPS due to many variables the combat lag is not able to give you. Some examples are a lot of weapons are range based, log doesn't keep up with what weapon you fired, each time you fire a weapon and its an adapted shot that also messes with analysis. Its why when I hear these things about I have a spreadsheet, program, or I did the math... I find that those comments majority of the time have no merit because of the lack of knowledge and information to make such calculations. Plus I'd rather not see cryptic wasting time trying to make a combat log telling you the distance from target, weapon weapon your using, based on your digestion rate at the time you pulled the trigger just isn't that bad of information needed when playing a game.
