Hey all, with the 2 year anniversary event coming to an end later today and the odyssey and bortas classes vanishing into the great black oblivion for a short period, it got me to thinking about how Cryptic could potentially use this situation to their advantage and to create end-game content.
It seems to me that the logical course of action to take after releasing a new ship class would be to crawl back into the dev cave, and work to creating a new engineering and science ship classes, then get to the storyboard again and start drafting up some "adventures of the enterprise F."
As corny as it sounds, please bear with me. A lot of the going concern within the games forums (as far as i can gather) is that once you hit level 50, there is a grand total of 3 story line quests and then you have to resort to stf. So why shouldn't Cryptic take advantage of the situation they've put themselves in and release several new "series" of storyline episodes not only including the generic "we're gonna blow stuff up in space... now we're gonna blow stuff up on the ground! then we're gonna blow more stuff up in space and then chase the bad guy to a different system *rinse and repeat*" but also including more diplomatic quests where the outcomes vary depending on your actions (or even so much as a "you could potentially fail this quest if you're not paying attention" type) which are also in high demand from what i've read on the forums. If they felt it necessary they could tack on another 10 levels but that would seem mildly unnecessary to me.
thoughts and opinions?
