Disappointed

I am very disappointed and don't know if they even care . I feel that since i paid for a lifetime membership, and since they already have my money they wouldn't care whether or not I ever played STO ever again? I was a month to month during the first year then paid for the lifetime membership thinking that STO would just keep getting better and that I would be playing this game for the years to come, but now I have my doubts that STO will live on to a 3rd year? Even when I lost items in my inventory due to their patching and changes I sent in a request to get help to retrieve those items and they said they couldn't and I couldn't understand why not. Are new players more important to them than the current veteran players? I sometimes wish I can get a refund for my lifetime membership.

Yes, new customers are always more important than those, who have already paid their share. And STO will see a third and even fourth and fifth year. It's not WoW of course, but it doesn't have to either. A MMO don't need several million subscribers to be successful. STO performs very well for a game of its size and the small team working on it. However, Cryptic should make sure, that STO won't become known as the "MMO with no support and no new content". A successful product needs a good reputation.

Yes, ground skill revamp, space skill revamp, doff system, starfleet and kdf academies, new hourly events, winter event, 2nd anniversary event, free ship during the anniversary, upcoming fe this weekend.
    Nothing new there.

I think the problem isn't that there's nothing new, the problem is that the stuff that's new isn't necessarily the stuff people are looking for, with the exception of the FE, of course.

For me, Ground and Space skill revamps were nice but honestly not a reason to log in. The DOff system was a short-lived distraction and the academies are places to visit but nothing to write home about. I view events as meaningless recurring distractions as well especially since I've been through so many in Cryptcis' other games.

Indeed the new free ship and the FE are the only things I consider logging in for but even then, it's not a long-lasting relationship but rather a brief visit.

There is all kinds of new stuff coming out all the time. Now it may not be the stuff you want but that does not change the fact that its new. I seen someone talk about how many players wow has.....sorry but that number is wrong. Most of them are gold farmers along with people who dual box. WoW real player base is maybe around half of that.

And your advice about that would be...? If a game disappoints because it has nothing to offer you individually, does it matter if other people find it less disappointing than you do?

Well, I hope that Cryptic starts to churn out more Story content. I wouldn't want the "year of content hell" part 2 to happen. Keep in mind that many of us play STO to see the continuing story of all that is Star Trek. PVP/STFs/FAs/Q Events et tal are fine and all...but they do little to tell us what exactly the Iconians are up to for example. Some of us were actually enjoying the stories being told and would like to see them continued. I wouldn't even mind if they trickled out single episodes at a time. As long as in the end we get more story content than just 2 FEs this year.

    I can agree with this.

Only advice can give is wait for the FE or start doing some of the top rated foundry stuff. Make a new char try a new build a new ship.

I just runs STFs and talk with my fleet. We all laugh and have a good time as we play. I do run PVP now and again as well.

Yeah, I know... I tried, but between being dumped to the Login Screen because of a repeating map-transfer error and network disconnects and having to actually find something interesting to do... I decided to go play something else.

Yeah, it's more about who you play with and not what you play and I've never played like that. :o
