Hi there, I'm a F2P user and totally new to STO. I noticed in the calender that the 2 year anniversary event was going from 10 AM PST on 2-3-12 and would end on Monday, 2-6-12 at 10 AM. A couple hours ago, I finally got to level 5 and started up "The Odyssey Class" mission. Unfortunately, the server went down before I completed it.

Now that the server is back up, it seems the event is over. Have I missed the opportunity to obtain this ship or is Cryptic going to do anything for players that are attempting to get it before 10 AM PST? I'm a little bit disappointed, as if I'd had known the event was ending at midnight, I'd have put more effort into leveling last night.

I think it is just maintenance, the Q stuff is still planned to end at 10am pacific time. The server should be back online in less than an hour.

they can switch events on and off without the need for maintenance. this may be an error if the event has gone away early.

if it is perhaps when they are back in the office they will switch it back on for an extra period to compensate?

That's what my topic is regarding - the server is up and all events are over. :(

Is there still something that needs to be done to 'activate' the event until 10 AM PST? If not, I'll take off for the evening and call it lousy luck and bad communication on Cryptic's behalf. I just don't want to leave and find that the event is reactivated for a few hours, where I'll miss it yet again.

I can't believe this happened a second time. Where is BranFlakes?

Can someone please prep the server guys that the batch to remove the 2nd anniversary event was release prematurely? Just like they did with Winter Event all over again.

What is up with all of the miscommunication for these things?!!

As Revo stated, it sounds like someone forgot to enable the event when they brought the server back up. How long it will take for this to be noticed and corrected is anybody's guess at this point.

To be honest, I wish they offer us an extension due to the extended downtime this past Sat. maybe extend the event to Tuesday instead.

In the Announcement by PWE_BranFlakes this event was to have a duration from 10:00am February 2 until 10:00am February 6th, Pacific Standard Time. When we got in around 1:20 PST the Q's event was not present. To quote directly:

"Q: How long does the event run?
A: From around 10:00am PST on Thursday, February 2, 2012 through around 10:00am PST on Monday, February 6, 2012."

Please Fix this. I was planning to finish off my own run of the event, and I know quite a few of european fleet mates and friends planned to do so as well. Changing the times of events like this is a bad idea that's happened only once before that I can think of. Hopefully this problem can be repaired before the event timer is out, and still give me time to get a few winks of sleep.

I'm sure this would be greatly appreciated by those of whom had busy weekends and intended to complete this mission early on Monday morning. Not everyone is home over the weekend, after all, especially on Super Bowl Sunday. Granted, this is STO...

I'm really upset by this myself; I was just about to start the mission for one last character before the downtime...come back and says 'Dropped Mission: The Odyssey Class'!

I second others, it's not even 10am UTC, let alone anywhere near what could reasonably be considered 'about 10am Pacific', so this missing after the downtime is utter bull.

I'm hoping it gets extended now until Tues /sigh

Greetings, Cryptic. I (like others) have a simple request:

Your press releases and blog updates state that the Anniversary event is to end at 10am PST. That is, as of this posting, a little over 8 hours from now. The event is not active on your servers following your patch and there are players (myself included) who have not been able to take advantage of it yet but are hoping to do so. We are currently very confused as to why your own timetable is not being adhered to and eagerly awaiting a positive resolution to this discrepancy.

Please re-enable the event for, at the very least, the remaining duration you specified to players. Players who may have had to plan their lives around a last-minute attempt to participate. It would be very much appreciated and go a long way towards resolving frustrations in the early hours.

What the? This is abismal. If it was a mistake i really do hope they rectify asap so i can get the Odyss.

If it was intentionally ended WELL AHEAD of the stated time and wont be rectified, then honestly: this is a game changer for me, they wont get another cent out of me. Id rather go give some dosh to the Star Wars mob. :P

I stayed up late to create and level a science officer just for this. Wandered in at around 2 AM Pacific to find that the Odyssey-providing engineer was quite gone. This is an 8 hour difference from 10 AM Pacific.

I am rather dissatisfied with this and a few other things I've been running into as a new Gold member. I hope that this is corrected soon, and not in a manner that sneaks up and hands over the 8 hour difference at a time I can't get to or am aware of it.

I'm adding my 2 credits on this as well. I was all set to get the ship on my last toon, a Klin Engineer, who was one mission away from lvl 21. before the server went down at midnight PST. When I logged back in, a bit more than 8 hours away from the scheduled event end time, the mission-giver was missing. The character is now lvl 21, and standing where the questgiver should be, with a confused look in his face.

..Especially since the calendar still has the event text in green with an 'In progress' notation for the 2nd anniversary event.. Despite the lack of NPCs.

The character name is J'Tan. The account name is @SweetBearCub.

    Thanks!

Disappointed that the event ended early considering it says ending at 10am PST.

They probably wont even notice till 8/9am, the very least they could do is extend it another day for the inconvenience.

    I'll second what DodgeHopper said.
In Branflakes' "Anniversary Event FAQ" thread it is clearly stated that the end time is Feb. 6 2012 at "around" 10 AM PST.
In the Season 5 Dev Diary #12 located at http://www.startrekonline.com/node/2838 it essentially says the same thing: "The event will run from around 10 AM PST on Thursday, February 2nd, through around the same time on Monday, February 6th."

The time now is 2:14 AM PST on Feb. 6th and the event has apparently terminated in both First City and ESD. Either someone has dropped the ball or the event started early, and they arbitrarily decided to end it early.

I don't necessarily want to see the event restarted (I got my chance to grab some dilithium and Mystery Boxes so it does not matter to me) but we do deserve an answer why the anniversary event stopped with no prior notice.

I'm really disappointed with Cryptic, I think the general consensus is that this ended prematurely and they need to extend the event.

Being that it's F2P, it's not encouraging for those who haven't subscribed to STO yet.

As for us Lifetimers and Gold Members, Cryptic, you need to do better than that, we support the game, so take care of it's paying members.

The event was started several minutes late on the first day. Forgivable in itself, but more a suggestion of manual interaction and nothing truly programmed to start (or end) on schedule. I am just guessing, here.

As a throwaway note, I am one of the ones who foolishly trusted that I would have time before the advertised end of this event in order to attain my prizes, because, silly me, I wished to save the theatrics of the mission for posterity in a Fraps recording from what I had seen it do. Something I wished to tackle after the maintenance patch. So in my case, my officer loses out. To say nothing of Pacific to Eastern US players who are asleep right now and will wake up without the opportunity they themselves thought they would have.

This needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Not everyone is able to log on at the weekend. I received an email telling me of the anniversary. I knew I was working the weekend so I planned to log on on Monday morning GMT which would give me plenty of time. I then find that it has gone down early.

If this was unintentional then an extention needs to be put in asap. If it was intentional then I would like Cryptic to consider the ramifications of false/misleading advertisement. After all the only way to get the ship now will be to buy it in a months time or so.

The maintenance, the server crash and now an event ending a day early... Just what kind of message is Cryptic sending??

My suggestion, extend the anniversary even another week (leave the odyssey quest closed after giving it another day) and fix the damn autofire bug (that has me so annoyed i stopped playing the night it happened just to calm down).

Cryptic, you have a great game, please stop TRIBBLE things up for your customers, and let them play.
