Video Above ^^

Long story short, this started around the time the patch with DX11 went live. I've made sure I'm still running DX9 (my card isn't DX11 compatible) I've checked for ammended settings and nothing jumps out, but to be honest I'm not sure what they were before.

I suppose my question is, which settings would be the best ones for me to fiddle with? This is an entirely new thing for my machine :)

I also get occasional flickering tooltips on ground if I over over a bridge officers powers.

So yeah, any feedback is great.

I get more than occasional flickering tooltips. I can hardly mouse over most things ingame. I can mouse over effects on myself in the upper left corner but that's about it. I can never mouse over effects on my ship in the bottom middle of the screen, nor my teammates to see what zone they're in (in the borg invasion event for instance).

When I do manage to mouse over an effect on my target (upper middle screen), when I move the cursor away the tooltip stays onscreen and flickers.

Yes, that would match what I (briefly) mentioned with the tooltips. Glad I'm not the only one, did begin to wonder how long my rig was for this world ;-)

In that thread they say they're aware of the space and ground background problems, but no mention of flickering tooltips or problems just getting tooltips to appear.

I did see someone reduced AA and AF and it worked. I guess I'll have to try that later when I have time. I'll try it ingame first, then through Nividia settings.

I've say flickering issue, both space and ground. Atm with DX9 setting the game seem to work "better" than Dx11.

I've the same issue with Skyrim. The Same

It didn't affect anything. I still get the flickering and difficult mouseovers no matter what graphics settings I use. I changed antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, shadows, lighting, you name it, and each individually.

Strangely, I FRAPSed a sample of me mousing over effects on a target and it doesn't show the flickering but does show the difficulty in getting the tooltip to appear. In the video when I get the tooltip to appear and then move the cursor away, it shows the tooltip either staying solid or disappearing, but ingame it flickers and continues to flicker until I mouse over something else.

I have a GTX 570 with 2560mb VRAM and am using the latest beta drivers (for Skyrim).

I just noticed now too that after mousing over my own tribble effect and moving the cursor away, a flickering tooltip with a countdown of time remaining on the buff appeared. That's never appeared before let alone flickered. I'm not gonna FRAPS it because apparently the flickering doesn't show up on video.

I also can never get tooltips for effects on my own ship to appear, like I said earlier.

I noticed last night that this does not happen in sector space. Only ground and space instance maps have this problem.

We're working on this issue right now. (As well as all the other borked skydome stuff.)

I'm not sure if this is part of the same problem, but I can't change the icons for my BOff powers while on the ground.

The BOff UI on the left side of the screen Always shows all of my boff power icons.

It's not game breaking, but it's annoying seeing them out of the corner of my eye while fighting on the ground.

When I click on the UI Icon to change this, I get the 1 & 2 options, but clicking on either of them does nothing.

Also, is this tied into the problem of my Ground Powers UI always closing ( from 2 rows to one) when I transition from one instance to another??

Thank you - are there any known work arounds for the moment?

Eh, what is the borked skydome thing? The issue that the background can be seen through far away objects because the engine makes them translucent?

I haven't had this in sector space yet. What sector does it happen in?

90% sure that it's not the objects becoming translucent. It's probably just the background drawing in front of the object. And I think the background is normally translucent and drawn on top of black. And if that's true, it's all the same issue.

Disclaimer: I'm not the one working on this issue, so I'm mainly hypothesizing.
