STFs need a tutorial

Now the F2P are hitting level 50 over the past few days STFs have been ridiculously bad.

I failed 7 STFs in one day 5 optional and 2 completely failed.

Would it be so hard to include a tutorial mission where people HAVE to play before joining regular STF, I very nearly deleted the game outright after the frustrating run of STFs where people just plainly dont listen to advice.

Don't give up hope bud, STFs are meant to be challenging, but they are 100% intended to be a team effort, and newbies just need to be helped to learn to play.

    To all newbies:

Do you know that there is a wiki called "STOwiki" - you will find reams of useful information there, on how to know what you are suppose to do, so the more exprienced players don't grief you.

Hang in there, you'll be up to speed in no time.

If something is not working for you in terms of your build, then ask around in the community as people will be sure to help.

To the OP, I share your frustration and know where you coming from.

Sorry I think you misunderstand me.

I know how to play STF and for past few weeks been doing well, but now all the F2Pers are hitting level 50 they dont have a clue what to do and are completely ruining the experience, I dont mind failing a few and offering advice but they just plainly ignore me and carry on shooting everything that moves.

STFs need a mandatory tutorial before you can even play in proper STFs.

Played 12 Normal and Elite STF's over the past 24 hours and have failed all optional (and Primary a couple of times) objectives (including the non-use of the Shift ability). Noone knows what they're doing, and do not listen to advice. Very frustrating.

I notice a lot of so called "experts" cry and moan in team chat but they never actually help people out. Some people will be playing the STFs for the first time, and they may even play the regular missions on ELITE and not realize the difference. Be polite and helpful, not insulting and useless.

If you need a guide to the optional objectives, look no further than my signature. The walkthroughs there are intended for Elite mode, but the same strategies will work fine on Normal as well.

Hence why I wrote the walkthrough. It is aimed at experienced STF runners, but I've also linked to a pair of very nice newbie guides that explain the loot system and the basics of the STF missions.

I've seen you make this complaint in many places: Get our of the public queues, and you won't have problems with this. Running Cure Space Normal via public queues is simply asking for trouble.

Even when you tell the team how to complete the STF, most times they don't even listen, or wilfully ignore you costing the whole team the optional (Infected), if not the entire STF run (Cure).

An excellent guide, but one the new players won't probably read.

When everyone musters at the start point (when entering the mission) someone needs to be nominated leader. This MUST be decided at the rally point before everyone starts dashing off with the newbies following whomever is in their sight. The "team" is then scattered and the mission basically over.

Simple commands like: "Concentrate on nano-supports and nano cubes/vessels to the right!" go a long way, but at the moment are completely ignored.

The leader can then assign say two ships (even one tank) to distract the assimilated starships, while the rest go for the objectives.
Find myself many times in that situation, taking on the role of distracting the borg ships and telling the "team" to go for it. Instead they mull around taking pot shots at the ships hoping to get a roll of the dice. If a couple do that, I head for the objectives. No one generally follows though.

It's a sad thing to see "leave the map now" appear within 5 mins of starting.
