Ok, I can live with having to do the stupid /defaultautoattack 1 thing every time I log in, even though there is NO excuse for it. I can even live with the odd server crash, even though that is clearly an amateur-hour sort of affair. However, being put into an empty STF with no leave button, and then being punished when I leave manually is just pathetic.
Cryptic, could you, pretty please, clean up your game before you run yourselves out of business?

...Thanks.
Dude, all servers are running slow. I'm sure Cryptic is aware of it. Maybe they turned off auto-fire temporarily so that the servers wouldn't explode. Be patient while they patch things up because I'm sure they will be fixed soon. Cryptic is fixing stuff every week with patches out da wazoo.
In the meantime, and I'm not trolling you, just chillax. Go make yourself some vanilla chai tea. Maybe eat some toasted bread with nutella. Watch this relaxing mediation video while doing neck and leg stretches: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR3dM-GlZK8. If you'd like to blow off some steam in another game, I cordially invite you to play warband with my clan and I.
Edit: I'll gladly run some STF's with you in a few days if you wait for me to finish the Romm and Cardassian missions.

Let me guess - you're new around here. Know how I can tell? You didn't include the (tm) after "soon".
In all fairness, I haven't had a single crash since I returned my PC to its default settings. I had an AMD unlocked processor that must have been clocked too high. Probably should make sure you eliminate the possibility of the problems being all on your end before thinking they're Cryptic's fault, right? And, no I didn't have problems with any other game, but it only takes one, doesn't it?

heh the issues he's having has nothing to do with his computer. it is the game, in each case. The Auto fire bug, is a bug, its an acknowledged bug. The Cure bug, is just one of many in that STF that have been around for a while, once again, nothing to do with his computer. The game has bugs, many of which has been around for a good while.

There is a difference between a server crash (which Cryptic commented on in these very forums) and a computer crash. I, at least, am aware of the difference.

The problem with their "patches" is that they seem to break just as many things as they fix. We've never had problems with autofiring before... why now? What about that system was broken that needed fixing?
And there's no guarantee Cryptic knows about anything until they publicly say it. Are you familiar with the double shield bug? Which was described on the forums and bug reported countless times and passed around amongst shady PvP circles for over a year before STOked finally devoted a large chunk of one episode to it... a week later Cryptic had a fix. No, given Cryptic's history it is not safe to assume Cryptic is aware of anything until they acknowledge an issue exists.
I always enjoy when people throw out nonsensical hypothesis to explain totally unrelated issues. How is TRIBBLE up auto-fire supposed to reduce server load? What evidence is there that the server load is too high? If it was truly the cause, why simply TRIBBLE it up and not disable it entirely? It just makes no sense.
If the servers are indeed over-subscribed, then maybe it's time to start limiting the number of connected clients. They have a priority login system for Gold/LTS members for a reason. If there are too many F2P, time to start kicking them off until more server capacity can be brought online to match the demand, as they advertise.

Let me guess, The Cure?

Of course. I'm pretty sure Cryptic's motto is "No sense fixing a bug until it's an old bug."
Ya, Cure has had since the S5 intro.
Be patient and wait, the Leave Map tab WILL show up.
Yep, it just took a few minutes the last time I saw this bug.
