Unable to see anomalies in sector space (clusters)

I have a problem that whenever I am in one of the exploration clusters (delta volanis, Khazan, etc.) I cannot see anomalies in my field of vision. I see the screen edge markers without trouble, it is only when they should slide into view that they dissappear.

Trying to search these for systems is a pain so I was wondering if there is a solution. The link belows has a screencap showing the problem.

You can see the white markers at the edge, but the view forward is empty. When the view is rotated more markers appear and the ones there dissappear just as they should be coming into view.

Some system information

GPU - MSI GTX 560 Ti 1GB (Have run it in both Dx9 and Dx11 modes)
CPU - Intel i5 2500K
Ram - 8GB
Monitor settings are all native so that shouldn't affect it. Drivers are up to date.
I've fidddled with every graphical setting I could find and nothing seems to help.

Have you got 'near systems annotations' turned on?

If you have all astrometrics turned off then you cant see anything. You need to turn on 'near systems annotations' as chaddy18 said.
