People are always asking why the ships don't have seatbelts to stop the officers being thrown around. Well, here they are.

Actually they already had seatbelts in both Enterprise and TMP era.

The Chair Archer got in Season 4 was a 22'nd century version of the one shown in that deleted scene (Trip even says "Try that button capt'n").

I also distinctly remember Kirk using somthing to lock his legs to the chair in one of the movies.

For some reason no one has taken notice of theese however.

Seatbelts would be nice but I have a slightly better question... Why in the world do Consoles EXPLODE during battle? Why do you need to rout so much power to a simple lighted touch screen interface that when something goes wrong it explodes and KILLS the person near it?

Also after the said console has exploded and killed someone, how on earth can the person who takes over the console actually make it work?
This happens all of the time and it makes zero sense

    This is why they would

The screen could have chemical stuff that could react and explode *EPS* or something *There could be an overload in the power conduit behind the console

They use fuses or something like fuses *but there advanced with plasma*

I always wondered if that new Commander was considered canon or not since it was a deleted scene. And if he is, what happened to him?

I don't consider him canon. Given everything we know about how Picard picked Riker to be his first officer, I find it hard to believe that Picard would pick such a gullible wiener as his new number 1.

    Totally Agree here u go
Scenes cut from the theatrical release of Star Trek Nemesis (but included in the 2003 and 2005 DVD releases) state that Commander Martin Madden took over for Riker as first officer and that Beverly Crusher left the ship to head up Starfleet Medical. Early versions of the script made reference to an Andorian ops officer. The new counselor was female, according to dialog. Novels set after Nemesis have ignored these deleted scenes and several new characters were created by the authors. Beverly Crusher returned to the Enterprise, beginning a romantic relationship with Captain Picard, eventually marrying him and as of the third book of the Star Trek: Destiny trilogy Lost Souls, she was pregnant with their first child. Worf was also promoted to commander and became the Enterprise's new first officer. * From star trek wiki*
