STO is a bad influence on me

I was watching some starships fight on DS9 during the Dominion War (<3 Netflix) and I kept instinctively looking for the glowing gold loot buoy things after a ship would explode.

    They're there...

It's just the crappy TV resolution that keeps ya from seein' them.

Although there is one way DS9 is like STO, there is always that one Defiant in PvP that runs away from the battle without ever getting hit.

    Hahaha. This made me LOL.

I have the Shield FX and damage floaters in-game turned off so sometimes, when I am playing, I forget that I am actually playing STO and not watching a ST episode.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

I hear you Mattian. A few months ago I was in a livechat watching Star Trek: Nemesis (don't judge me; we were all there to mock it), and we were working our way through the endless battle with the Scimitar. After the Enterprise suffered yet another horrendous pounding, I relieved my exasperation by typing "Dammit, Picard, hit Hazard Emitters II, spin around with Evasive Maneuvers III, then go to Attack Pattern Omega I while you hit Fire at Will II. Do I have to do everything for you?"

However, that was not the geekiest part of the story. That came the next day, when I ran over my statement and realized that you can't use APO I on an assault cruiser, since it doesn't have a LTCMDR BO slot. Which made me sad. (My personal canon assumes that Picard tested the Season 6 update, so he got the Assault Cruiser Refit before any of us.)

You know, that scene of the Connie firing in Rachel Garrett's tribute video?

I've had to replay that a dozen times because, in my head, I'd swear it was from "Trials and Tribble-ations."

Of course, I'm not sure if you're there yet or have seen it so I'll keep mum about any spoilers.

Nemesis was the best movie out of all of them.

You think that's bad OP?... Check out this sad moment from Netflix....

I was watching Tin Man from TNG on Netflix and when the Romulan War Bird is coming up on the Enterprise I messed up the play back because I tried to click on the screen to turn my view to see it better... *Face Palm*

It is bad enough I do that when watching people's Youtube vids of the game...

I dreamed of Star Trek last night. Not STO though. I was on a Starfleet-vessel. I cannot recall, what I was dreaming, but I know, how I woke up: I had to go to the toilet and was in despair because I could not find a frakkin toilet on that frakkin ship. After I woke up it took me a second to realize, that I'm back in real life, where I had a toilet, which I actually had to use. I wonder what might have happened, if I'd have found a toilet on that ship.

Oh yes, just keep pressing the blue button on your remote and eventually you will pick one of them up.

On a serious note though. If you genuinly are getting a feeling like your playing the game while watching. Your probably not spending a lot of time doing much else and need a break. Very bad sign when things merge a little and do so often. Before you know it you will be getting into the car and saying "Engage"
