Do the
"Confer"..."Cooperate"... & "Participate" - In Colonization Assessment" Assignments, actually have anything to do with begining the 'Colonial Chain Assignments", in the Clusters?
If not... why not... would be a great way to inform players about the 'Chain Assignements' to begin with.
I did not even know they existed till I read
HEVACHs',
very informative thread on them.

The other oddity of progression is that it seems like you open up access to some of the better quality assignments as you max out our CXP rank. At that point, CXP and XP rewards are relatively meaningless, so it would be nice to see those later progression assignments weighted towards other rewards.
If that's already the case, then great
Good news.
I am in favour of anything that expands what you might call, player directed goals. I can choose to focus and push these or I can choose to ignore them. It gives me a sense of objective and purpose in my DOff assignments.
I also LOVE the missions (only had one so far) where one leads to another. All I would ask in that regard is you make it much more obvious in the mission feedback that this has happened. When you run DOff assignments across 8 characters you don;t read the results in detail.
Thank You...
(sorry for the delayed response, was eating my Pizza dinner...)
Having the Assignments I mentioned above..., attached as the starting point.., ...would be a great idea. (and I don't mind saying so myself)

Another possible idea, is that have some sort of Treasure Hunt Assignment...
Something along the lines of Picard looking for the Vulcan Stone of Gol, in the 2-part episode "GAMBIT"...
But instead of our Toon's looking for the parts and pieces, our DOff's every once in awhile come across a strange artifact... eventually when we have collected enough pieces.. it starts to become clear just what the item is...
Of course you'll have to come up with all the in-between stuff... I'm just an IDEA-MAN...
<chuckle>
Well said, I very much agree.
